When my wife was a QA, she assisted in operations on gravely injured Falklands veterans.
She said some of the wounds were horrendous.

Hopefully, they’ll remember that too.

Some interesting things are also suggested by the stats:

-> Pedestrians seem to suffer a lot
-> Driver usually survives
-> A lot of those that died probably didn’t have a seatbelt on
-> Elderly are more likely to get serious injuries in a vehicle
-> Junctions and corners are a common location

What no cyclists?
I suppose that is to be expected as they mostly seem to ride on pavements these days.
