The Police are to “Protect and Serve”. I make no bones about the fact that I do not like the police, I consider a lot of them as self seeking morons. Having got that off my chest there have been many occasions when Police Officers have dived into Bristol docks late at night to rescue drunken idiots. These Officers are worthy of praise but they are few in number.

OK not now because I am severely disabled but my Army training would have compelled me to try.NI told me one thing you do not leave a comrade in danger even if you put yourself in it.If their was no one willing to help in the situation described and I could see the casualty off with the outer clothes and go. Thermal shock? for gods sake you see people breaking the ice to have a swim in the Serpentine.

And if the person inside will not open the door, as he clearly didn’t, what then?

Would it have made any difference if the bailiffs had broken the door down rather than the Police?

Yes the law in a civil case as I said the Police are there to prevent a breach of the peace not put doors in that is the job of Court Officials only. It is a civil case.

Actually, having finally seen (most of) the video, I think the Police behaved in a manner that was far from ‘ignorant’; even when goaded by the ‘professional’ activist ‘protectors’ the Police remained calm and went about their job in a very professional manner.

Have you actually watched the video?

IT IS NOT THERE JOB TO BREAK IN DOORS. Their job is to enable the bailiffs to gain entry without obstruction or violence! If the ‘professional’ activist ‘protectors’ kick off it is their job only to keep the Queens peace.
They completely overstepped the mark here. Police no Paramilitary filth yes out on a jolly. The gutless wonders will never go near a Travellers camp.I hope and pray these thugs in new Britain get the pension they deserve and don’t resign at the drop of the hat if a discaplinery charge is brought against them.
Yes I have watched the video. Shortage of Police Officers? how many were there milling about. It was not as if they were there to evict Chuck Norris.
To Lincoln7 over the top or not?
