Answers to the “What ifs?”
– What will happen to them if (when )BA decide not to fund their care & maintenance?
BA withdrew support forthe “collection” about 3 years ago
– What will happen if Cosford want the space for new buildings?
It’s a big site, but unless they go inside a new building, they’ll be left to their fate.
What will happen if the airframes stay outside?
The B707 already has significant corrosion, which is extremely evident when you get up close. Personally (owning several airliner cockpits – under cover – and having seen the Blackpool Vulcan up close, I don’t think it will be long of this world unless something is done almost immediately, and that certainly doesn’t look likely in view of yesterdays press release.
What if RAFM has no funds to care for them?
The RAFM has no funds to care for them – telephone quote yesterday afternoon….
G-AOHL
Hi,
The Viscount is G-AOHL, the old BAF cabin trainer. I have bought it to add to my collection at Pershore, and should be transporting it w/c 31 Oct.

Airliner Cockpit for filming
Hi,
I have 2 x Lockheed Electra’s, 1 x F27 and (shared with G Spoors) a Boeing 707, which is complete and powers up.
All based near Pershore, Worcs.
email me on jsmorgan@btconnect.com if you would like more details.
Cheers,
John
Absolutely fantastic photographs….the “credible source” is now a member of this forum too!!
That looks great, and confirms that CJI wasnt one that has been scrapped.
AAArrrgghhh – I got it wrong guys – I apologise!!
For EI-CJI read EI-CJF
Sorry, I’ll go stand in the corner
Slight correction methinks. EICJI became GFIGP of European on 11 Apr
The deal fell thru with European – it remained EI-CJI until the end. A/C was owned by DASI Florida.
Uuoret maybe I read it wrong but you said EI-CJI with the yellow color scheme was stored somewhere. The Yellow on is CJC I think and its Hertz and is still happily smoking away flying from Dublin.
Sorry – I meant the pic with the yellow cheat – that’s CJI for Castle Douglas!
EI-CKS, the one on the car trailer, is already in Pershore, Worcs (temporarily outside my house) EI-CJI, with the yellow Ryanair c/s is located in Castle Douglas, EI-CJE in the Jaguar c/s is already hangared at Biggin Hill wityh it’s new owners, and the rear bulkhead from CJE has gone to a University in London.
he he
just strikes me as ironic.
It is!
I’ll post pics at the weekend – going to PIK tomorrow to help clear the site and pick up CKS cockpit on a large car trailer.
ha ha go figure
A 732 converted into an NG sim. he he
Yup! Complete glass cockpit refit. Not us doing it, we’ve sold it on to a professional sim company.
Guess I’ve figured…!
EI-CJE (Jaguar c/s) was finally scrapped this afternoon at PIK. However, we managed to preserve the cockpit and first 5 rows in the cabin – it’s going to be turned into a 737NG simulator “somewhere in London”, travelling down the M6/M42/M40 on Thursday 19th May. EI-CJS and EI-CKS cockpits also preserved, CJS moving to Castle Douglas and CKS to Pershore, Worcs.
The Electra cockpits were on e-bay a while ago, no takers then???
I just had LN-FOI up on ebay – G-CHNX is in better condition and will remain with the collection. LN-FOI didn’t sell unfortunately, we are desperate for some space!!
I spotted an AV-8 hulk at Wyton a few years ago near the Stirling project hangar – is that the one? if not, anyone know where it is?
I don’t think it’s the Wyton AV-8 – but I’ll post pictures/details when I get them.
Yes, it is ex Fred Olsen. Originally ZK-TEA of Tasman Empire Airlines (which became Air New Zealand). I have fond memories of this a/c as I got my first “verbal warning” as a flight despatcher at Edinburgh in 1976, when I sat it on its tail whilst loading tv sets. The BAA loaders started at the back – I was supervising from the flying club bar….ah well…
