India is simply trying to play hard to get so that the French lower their prices, as we know even F-16s are on offer, a more pro buyer outcome seems to be unfolding if we are to look at the future. As I had predicted last year, the deal will only be signed by the end of next year or early 06
I thought that the FC-1 was Chinese tech? 🙂
We recently heard news reports talking about a Chinese radar being fitted to the fc-1, a smaller version of the j-10 radar has been mentioned. One wonders why an aircraft that a few months ago, was taunted as having such a big nose, would not get the same j-10 sized radar? Am I the only one who finds this confusing, why would u want to get a less capable radar if you can fit the original and more capable radar in the nose?
China is wayy off the plasma stealth field.
The Chinese don’t tell much and what they tell is generally behind what they actually do. They have not yet rolled out a third prototype in public, but we have already seen accidental pictures of a third prototype already being fitted with radar.
Otherwise can you give a better explanation why the wing fences, installed to deal with tip stalling issues, were removed without any changes in the wing, and what other means can you deal with tip stalling issues without any changes in the wing other than FBW control on the wing control surfaces?
Sorry dude I do not buy your accidental picture claim, the Chinese security teams keep on making mistakes, ya right, all these pics are released on purpose.
1.8B sounds to bee too expensive for two Akula 1s, there must be more in this deal than we are told like “major assistance” in the ATV project itself. Look for the Indian reactor to start working fine soon for the ATV.
I place my bets on the planes reaching their airframe limits, the IAF logs many hours a year on the Mirages.
One of the things that start blaring like a siren in the hangers is “GROUND CREW.. GROUND CREW… GROUND CREW.. GROUND CREW”. Our (Indian) pilots are a fine buncha trained men but does anyone talk about our ground crews? Are we missing something by not taking a close look at them?
Closing note ** – I have no lingering doubts about the g/c in our air force and I am sure, like the pilots, they come under heavey scrutiny even when they are 101% committed to the job.
Well that is a possibility but think about it this way, so until a few months ago the ground crew were doing a decent job but suddenly they became stupid and forgot how to maintain the fighter?
it does not make sense. If there was a past record, sure, but there isn’t. Even the spare parts issue is tricky, Dassault is known for product quality especially after product support, something is fishy.
Surely somehting is not right when 4 mirages crash in 2 months, is that including the one which made a crash landing in Mauritius as well?
Surely the fleet should be grounded, the MIrage pilots are the top notch of the IAF as shown in foreign exercises and crash rates before 2 months ago were very very low, one wonders if its a spares part problem or a certain mishap in the maintainance infrastructure, me thinks that its the former because Mirage 2000s are well maintained traditionally.
I have had the pleasure of visiting the carrier during one of those great Thai receptions, they throw a lot of parties on those 🙂
Forget about night capabilities but if in the future they are able to mount any chemical weapons spray, this couldbe used to contaminate large patches of agri land. A danger in deed, time to invest in low level air defence systems
Why bother with the Danush if u are developing a land version extended range Bhramos?
Pardon my ignorance but is the su-80 an AJT or what?
I wonder if they have resolved the radar issue yet, we heard that the Grifro was delayed and that a smaller version of the J-10 radar would be used and this is my question, why a smaller version of the J-10 radar? Cant the current j-10 radar fit in the nose anyway, in any event the delayed Grifro s7 or whatever it was called is similar to that of the j-10, i am a bit confused.
It would be illegal and russia could sue and win and China would have to concede unless it plans to be isolated in the future, u just cant do that and China won’t either.
From what I read a year ago, it was supposed to be unstable in one axis.
I have a model of a Rafale right in front of me, and no it does not look like the Rafale, it looks more like a fatter F-16, its looks are not that bad actually.
Why add a canard to a relatively stable airframe?
