GE is apparently the largest foreign employer in india with a staff of around 20000 engaged in everything from back office processing to Phd level research via many divisions. they have a gigantic R&D laboratory in whitefield near bangalore employing 1000+ Phds/MS

With the ever stronger econ relationship with India, the US is unlikely to impose sanctions anymore unless there is a fundamental policy shift in Idia, they won’t want to hurt American based companies in India, hence hurting their bottom lines. 🙂 You haveto love globalization sometimes.
The Kaveri will not be ready before 2010 but will obviously not delay the LCA since GE is willing to supply its own engines!
The IAF shold look into other options such as the M-88 though in case sactions were to come up in the equn but even this is unlikely as the US and India grow closer.
Then what are USN sized carriers? Galaxies?
50% of Russian contribution may be in human resoruces only for which they charge money. I don’t think they have the money for convential arms any more. Maintaining space program and nuclear weopons for both land and naval takes alot of money from them. I see little chance of Russia buying new conventional weopons for atleast next 10 years. just upgrading.
Russia wil induct the Bhramos, and it was a 50-50 in cash and beyound!!!!!!!!
So your analysis is already flaud and the rest is just naive childish talk.
the Russians are going to stick with the SS-N-26 Yakhont though.. right?
So the russians spent 50% of the project money in r and d just to stick to an older missile? Boy they must really love India, pay for 50% of project to make things for India cheaper and then only India buys and the russians can only sell to countries that India agrees too as well, , nah it does not work like that, of course they will buy Bhramos as well.
Again improbable, the US does not want to endanger its own interests in the region by fostering more anti semitic and American feelings, they have troops in Iraq and the millitancy is intensifying. Besides good luck getting past the Saudi airspace, they will to the minimum notice a huge formation of F-15s and 16s and refuellers on their radar screens and the royal Saudi AF will take to the skies with their own F-15s, this will make quite the situation, see its just too much of a complication, if israel really wants to do something, just use sublaunched cruise missiles, that will do the job and not go through all the land garbage. israel needs a long range cruise missile, i wonder if work is going on in that direction, India is also working in that direction, why dont u guys give us a helping hand 🙂
Wouldn’t Israel need permission to fly over Iraqi airspace which would not be given by the Iraqui govt for obvious reasons and the US would not overrule because then the Iraquis would say hey look fake sovereignty blablabla, just because Israel buys bunker busters does not mean that they want to bomb Iran. It would be a mistake anyway, the regime will eventually fall, most Iranians hate the regime, I have never met more liberal ppl in the mid east than Iranians.
While it is possible that the F-15C be marginally ineferior to the Su-30K, in a real battlefield situation the AEW-plane combo will gain the upper hand against any country on the planet, be it China or any other x. Granted though it just won’t be that easy where ony 2 or three fighters are lost but the war will be won by the USAF, dont let any air exercise fool u about the aggregade capabilities of the USAF.
There is a big danger that if the strike misses all its targets, one or two nukes can survive and will be enough to decimate Israel and kill millions of civilians, that own’t be good for anyone. I think that such a strike appears to be too risky especially when the south of Iraq is prone to follow orders form the Ayatollahs.
I have a question, why is the Un after Iran to disarm, did Iran sgn a certain agreement wherein it would not develop nukes sometime? I mean there are other nuclear powers out there with nukes as well and I never hear the UN after them.
I think that attacking the Iranian nuke facilities with Israeli help will be a bad mistake, it would create such an anti US/Israeli feeling in the region and Iraq will explode. That won’t be good for US troops on the ground in Iraq, best bet is to launch cruise missiles and hope for the best, B2s etc as well of course.
I think that we should look at the Iranian air defence system and its recent upgrades. Do they actually have the S-300? Have their MiG-29s been upgraded, are they well versed in BVAR tactics, and btw I am sure that Iran is aware that they may be attacked by the US ever since the US knocked at Iraq’s door last year, hence preparedness will be high.
Ba that is what u get when a certain AQ Khan from country x is ignored and when nothing is done vs the Koreans f the North for sucha long time.
For the nth time, get your facts straight at least and stop the pure bs, he Swedish govt has formally announced that they will not sell any offensive weapon system to Pakistan, aka fighter planes, surveillance planes, possibly. The french will always sell to the highest bidder and since the m2k deal is now moving at the CCS stage in India, Pakistan can compete for numbers and prices with India which should make the french very very happy lads.
OK Here goes………….
In the begining IAAPO made two-seaters exclusively and KnAAPO made single seaters exclusively. (NAAPO made the side-by-side two seat Su-34 but that is a different story).
KnAAPO developed the ‘Super Flanker’ – the single-seat Su-35. New airframe, canards etc – as others have posted. A completely revised airframe to the Su-27.
IAAPO developed the -MKI for India from their own -UB trainer.
Not to be outdone, KnAAPO also then made a two-seater, the -MKK for China – probably because China did not want their Su-30’s made in the same place as the Indian Su-30’s.
KnAAPO then made the Su-35UB – probably as a marketing tool to give potential Su-35 buyers a back-seat ride.
It combines the Su-35 airframe (are you still with me?) with the two-seat cockpit.
Whether it is fully combat-capable is doubtful – but it does not matter. It has the potential to be a fully combat capable tandem two-seater based on the ‘Super Flanker’ airframe.
That is one of the strengths of the Flanker family – you can mix-and-match airframes, avionics, engines etc to make the plane of your choice.
Ken
I think that I lost u there flanker man 🙂
So in your opinion what is the biggest diff btw the su-35 and the MKI in terms of airframe and fuel load and overall capability?
That was my point exactly!
It seems like for the last decade or so, it has been in US interests not to sell Pakistan F-16s even though every single year PMs and Generals reasked the question.
How will F-16s armed with Amrams help Pakistan take care of the war on terror?
Osama Air Force?
Hijacked planes can be taken care of via improved security, bullet proof sealed airplane doors, commandoes in planes etc.
To tackle the war on terror, Pakistan will be given helicopters and UAVs and not Amrams?
Does Venezuela really need anything more than a MiG AT with more advanced ground attack capabilities, maybe the Yak trainer?
Don’t get me wrong i love the MiG-29 and MiG and wish them luck, new orders from Venezuela, Algeria, India, nice t see this.
