would it not be better for Brazil to coorporate with India with full tech disclosure, such things were discussed when the Brazilian pm last visited India, Brazil can thus gain full access and easily catch up in satelite tech. Maybe even the Chinese could offer Brazil a similar deal, 3rd world naitons should coorporate together, it makes more economics sense.

Let us not forget that when the IAf has its training exercises, the MiG-29s always beat the Mirage 2000s 7:3 in air to air combat

Judging from the Germans studying in London, its drinking, drinking and drinking which is great. 🙂

Germany is still one of the world’s strongest economies, therefore, it is unquestionable that Germany can afford to have what it wishes. The Europe has no threat logic is not a sufficient condition for a smaller army, one could argue that all countries should disolve their millitaries and thus noone would need to protect themselves in the first place, besides if Germany and France plan to see the great European Army, a distant dream for now, they better start building up soon.

Well, considering the Hawks in the RAF are almost 30 years old now, and have already gone through both wing and fuselage changes, it’s not surprising the Hawks India is going to get are far more capable.

You will have to excuse some of these journalists, only such a format can be understood by them.

The LCA has nothing to do with the Mirage order which is being used to replace MiG-23s and FL Fishbeds and for the nuclear role, the LCA was never ment to do all that and there is no way the IAF can raise the number of squadrons with 220 LCAs, only monkeys will keep on believing such things to feel better about themselves, I invite them to continue to do so, the simplest of things won’t get through the head for obvious reasons. 🙂

Funnier still, the MoD has not halved any order of LCAs, my goodness, if one were to use editorials to point towards the failures of the Rafales, EF-2000s, F-22s lol, it is a good day when pdf memebrs can only come up with editorial opinion papers, btw I won’t bother wasting my time with trolls, one can simply google for the latest IAf opinion on such
    “halving orders” rumours. 🙂

Yes but then agian China cannot get the same level of access to russia as the we can, I cant see Russia helping China with their nuclear reactor, India and russia= US and Britain type relationship when it comes to weapons.

True India cannot afford a huge fleet of MKIs and the M2000 is a capable ac anyway, glitter you raise an important point, a new Govt has taken over with more stronger pro russian old guard, the commies won’t mind russian anyway. Also there seems to be a dispute with France over the 10 current Mirage 2000s ordered. Essentially I do not see a deal, I personally believe that we should put off talks of squadron number upgrades and wait for the MCA or PAk-fa, spend the saved money on the pak fa project and it will bear fruit in about 10 yrs. It would be more feasable to upgrade the current Mirage fleet and buy another 24 fighters for the nuke role. I fail to see how the Grippen is in the contest, it is just too LCAish and Sweden won’t sell to the nuke arsenal.

The Dhruv is a good helicopter, let us hope that HAL can maintain a high quality in production.

The difference is how you handle any news about Indian projects. If we would have read that Eurocopter would have won a lease contract to the IDF, no one would have said that it prooves that the helicopter is world leading. Everyone would have discussed on the details of the deal and how much did Eurocopter offer to get the deal.
    And that is the difference.

    BS

Noone is saying that the ALH is x^n, we are simply saying that IAI is likely to purchase some, if you actually go to the last page, something which I am sure u did not do, you would notice that certain usual suspects brought up the issue of ALH bad this and that, sure, we should just let them say whatever they want ok.
One claimed that the ALH cannot go at high altitude
fact, it can go at high altitude and will go higher when the improved engine comes
The ALH weighs more than the Eurocopter and European help was taken as consultants in the early 80s, such is clearly mentioned on the Indian Govt sponsored HAL website!!!!!!!!

Then there was the typical “IAI is taking it only because of marketing deals”, the usual suspect, can it be possible that the ALH is good enough to fill the needs of the Israeli AF? Probably not, it is Indian afterall. 😮 here is something else to think about, maybe IAI liked the prospects and capabilities of the Dhruv and this is why they entered into an agreement to market the thing in the first place.

    Yes Austin since when?

I know that the Aster purchase is number one on the IN priority list since the Gorshkov battlegroup lacks a longer range air defence system but I have not heard of any contracts, let us hope so, I shall sendu a box full of ladus. 🙂
