You should stop posting on any PAF related thread for few months than you
will be on break. No need to put last year news reports again. There are tons
in Indian media also like recent visit of IAF chief to France.
π
I guess you do not get why I posted it, you do not even make sense and do you own AFM, who gives you such a right, yawn. π
The PAF is getting Libyan Mirages and the funny thing is that the thread is called “PAF to acquire”, this one its “purchases”
At least get it right.
Indis want all that is on the market but when the times comes to pay some cash they never show up
Jealousy is not helpful especially when certain airforces keep on purchasing planes every month without them ever showing up. π
Su-30MKI
LCA
Scorpenes
Mirage 2000s confirmed by both sides as being concluded and needing the cabinet nod
Phalcons
Gorshkov
AJT
I can go on and on, we do show up and pay lol, give me a break.
Give me a break, every week, we get the same bs, whenever the General visits a country that manufactures fighter planes, the PAf is always acquiring, now we get more propaganda like “PAF purchases 7 AEWs” lol give me a break, contract negotiations have yet to start, the Swedes have yet to decide and the PAf has already purchased planes.
Pakistan is purchasing everything it seems. π
Pakistan’s Mirage-2005 planes purchase to be discussed in Paris
(Updated at 2250 PST) By Zia Iqbal Shahid
Brussels: During President Pervez Musharrraf’s visit to Paris, next week, the option of purchasing Mirage-2005 fighter planes from France will also be discussed as an agenda item of structured talks between the governments of Pakistan and France, a reliable defence source in Brussels told The News.
Pakistan has officially conveyed to Paris, through diplomatic channel, Islamabad’s decision to further explore the possibility of buying Mirage 2005 aircrafts from France.
A report submitted, last year, by the French delegation , led by Jean Louis Barbier, a senior official of the French Defense Ministry, after meeting senior officials of Pakistan Navy and Air Force in Karachi and Islamabad has set some positive trends to enhance the level of Pakistan-French defence cooperation, the source said.
Pakistan has already evaluated the feasibility of introducing Mirage 2005s into its air fleet and a Pakistan Air Force experts have given a positive report about the Mirage 2005s after visiting France to test fly the aircraft, the source told.
India also plans to buy mirage 2005s to equip its seven squadrons but Pakistan-France negotiations aimed at concluding a Mirage 2005 deal are at a pretty advanced stage, the source indicated.
Indian Air Force (IAF) has initiated preliminary discussions with Dassault Aviation of France to acquire Mirage 2005 fighter aircraft to enhance its strike and nuclear deterrence capabilities, the source indicated.

βWe have yet to reach that stageβ in the negotiations,”
thats why the ACM is going to Sweden in near future..to reach that stage π
its not inappropriate to mention maneuvrability..its not just concerned with evading missiles…
π
But the thread says “purchases”, which is in the present, has a contract been signed yet, not even an official contract negociation yet, the Swedes have yet to decide and here we have the PAF about to aquire Libyan Mirages, a 99% dpne deal and here we have a thread “purchases AEW”, don’t you find this a bit funny?
Quote:
During their talk on Tuesday, Musharraf and Freivalds also discussed increasing trade between their two countries. She insisted that Sweden would not consider selling weapons to Pakistan. βThere is no question of selling them weapons or anything directly related to weapons today,β she said, adding that the government had yet to decide whether the Erieye radar system would be considered a weapon. βWe have yet to reach that stageβ in the negotiations, she said. afp

I am sorry but I thought that this was so funny and had to refresh this, purchase seems to be in the present tense, the most hilarious thing is that the other thread is “PAF to aquire Libyan Mirages”.
On a serious note though such a system costs about 150m right?
Ahhhh, to little knowledge is a dangerous thing! First of all India does not have such a missile, secondly the Saab aircraft represent a much small target both physically and signiture wise comapared with the IL-76, it is also far more manouvreable….
We are not talking about stealth aircraft here, any AEW will flash on your radar screen, manouverability is a mute point, I do not seem to recall that AEW platforms could outmanouver missiles maybe they will be flown by superhumans?

good one
Relax guys, it seems like the PAF has already purchased 7 AEWs before the Swedish Govt has yet to reach such a stage where it will even consider such a sale. Keep the threads comming. π

π
Here we go again, maybe someone can tell me how the PAF suddenly purchases AEW systems when the Swedish Govt has yet to “reach that stage” yet π
Wolverine… Moronic? Well. I asked a F16mlu pilot. It is not a bad plane. But it looses lot of energy while turning. And if can gain the kinetic energy then it is not a poblem. But bleeding energy is not in you mind…
Why are you trying to hijack the IAF picture thread again?
Get it this way
Mirage 3 = delta
LCA = CRANKED DELTA
Now go to your local aerophysics books selling library and educate yourself. Then come back and tell me the difference btw a cranked delta and a pure delta and then we can talk, patriotism aside, can you do this?
Such things have been discussed before, they performed simulations with canards and saw no improvement in manouverability and hence it was dropped. And no a cranked delta is not the same as a delta, just like a swept back wing is not the same as a traditional delta wing, just ebcause the last word is wing does not mean that its all the same lol. The F-16XL project was not only about creating a strike aircraft
http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/aircraft/f-16ef-xl.htm
A radical redesign of the F-16A, the XL was a supersonic cruise demonstrator with a cranked arrow delta wing optimised for that flight regime. The aircraft was a major technical success, with two demonstrators eventually flying. Although supersonic cruise without afterburner was an original goal of the F-16XL program, the aircraft did never achieved this feat. The highly swept inboard wing section of this aircraft produced substantial vortex lift at supersonic speeds, while also improving instantaneous turn rate and extending the 9G manoeuvre envelope well above Mach 1. An additional benefit of the new configuration was a substantial increase in internal fuel capacity, providing a 120% improvement in combat radius performance.
LCA is nice but better then mirage 2000-5 or f16c/d? I personal have doubts.
π
This is a picture thread guys, in any event I do not believe that PLA will share with us his great knowledge of aviation, it has already ben proven that cranked deltas have had better performance than the basic F-16 wing shown in the XL program, next week another Pakistani will come and say “hey you have a delta plane and is as manouverable as the Mirage 3.
My personal opinion! lol, people here seem to have many opinions but they seldom say because x,y,z reason, sad.
cant wait till the jags show off their stuff against f-16 and mirages
Let us hope that the Jags do not show off their stuff to those planes or else they will be toast, better go really really really low and fast, bomb and get out and hope that the Japanese escorts do their job.
A nuclear sub with an AIP? huh?
Very sad in deed, I hope that their families can cope with this great loss, best luck to them.
