Why compare them both, does it really matter which one is cheaper, any decent airforce with a limited budget will opt for two engined and one engined fighters anyway.
You know this always happens, whenever a high ranking official visits a country that manufactures aircraft, be it the US, Grance, China, Sweden etc, stories suddenly appear in the Pakistani press, the fans get excited, and then the host country ends up denying it aka its just not true. One has to question the credibility of those local papers and maybe these are written for local consumption rather than what will actually happen, hence it would be wise for all Pakistanis to wait till a contract is signed, at least wait till the other side confirms the news and says the same thing too, or else it does nothing but ridicule Pakistani newspapers and the ones that post it. IN a few years pakistan will get the J-10, so cheer up, 4.1B for Gripens, that is moe than your defence budget, too expensive, the J-10 will be cheaper and the Chinese will provide friendly terms of payment, just be patient, it will eventually come.
Yes we love Israeli tech, nice pic 🙂
Is this the great reliable source that PAF FAN has been jumping up and down about?
We still await the forecastintlink but then again the Swedes have denied it which brings the PAF back to square one.
I remember making this bet a few pages ago
“If the story is true, all the PAF FANS of the world can crowd out this forum with whatever they wish and noone should do anything about it but if it yet another BS story, then they should forever stop posting such nonsense until the contract is signed”
Well aparently the fuss is big enough that someone has created a flame thread but let him continue, we all need our share of laughs snf pity.
For one thing, your link does not work Saleem, secondly the IAF operates about 24 Il-76s, hence what a sad source you have, oh well keep on trying, you may eventually get it right.
Vikas I am on topic actually Saleem started it all
note my quote of him tlaking about Dassault not giving spares because they want countries to buy newer planes BS, please Saleem do in deed enlighten us on that one with a reliable source because I have never EVER EVER HEARD of any Mirage 5 spare parts problems BECAUSE DASSAULT WAS UNWILLING TO SELL.
I can see that Saleem has been reduced to creating a MiG-21 thread as well, come monday the webbie will come.
btw I thought that there were many mods here now, what the heck happened?
While it is hard to argue about quality of the 21st century PAF pilot vs the IAF pilot in this forum, we can surely compare, as our great friend Saleem would say “IAF still lacks behind PAF in skill training, acquiring good quality pilots and the infrastructure to train pilots”, note the infrastructure part, which is plain dumb because it is a fact that the IAF infrastructure is more advanced than that of the PAF.
“Pakistan is buying Mirage 3 & 5 from everywhere because this aircraft its backbone. Dassault has bascially stopped making spare parts and is forceing the current useres to buy its new line of aircrafts”
I dont think so Hatoum, Dassault has continued to sell spare parts to Mirage 3 and 5 users and there is no evidence of any pressure but I am sure that you can back this up with a reliable source!
WHile you are at it, may I also know the name of this European country from which the IAF bought 70 MiG-21s just last year, this has to be the biggest news in years to all of us Indians? 🙂
Pakistan is buying Mirage 3 & 5 from everywhere because this aircraft its backbone. Dassault has bascially stopped making spare parts and is forceing the current useres to buy its new line of aircrafts.
Aries, your IAF last year bought 60 Mig-21 from an eastern european country, why did they buy those. IAF had to ground its fleet of 29 and 27 because lack of spare from your husky friends and even their fleet of 16 IL-76 only 8 are operational.
PAF still has a very sophisticated and high standard in training pilots and by comparision IAF still lacks behind PAF in skill training, acquiring good quality pilots and the infrastructure to train pilots.
Just reunderlining this to make sure that the webbie does not get sie tracked as to who starts what over here, in any event not even poor Saleem can be that stupid, I honestly believe that it must be a hacker of some sort.
Aries or Ares lol please see what I wrote before you spit your nasty words, I refer you to the Mirage 2nd hand Lybian to Pak thread

Phrozenflame could you please tell me what flaming means?
Sabre Ace did not use any racial slurs and talked about aviation?
I seem to be quite confused as to how that qualifies as a flame?
in any event we are all waiting for a workable link to the so called forecast international article on the Griphen thread
NOTE THE LAST TWO LINES, HOPE THAT THIS HELPS YOU UNDERSTAND A BIT BETTER, I HAVE A FEW MORE IF YOU STILL DON’T GET IT. 🙂
Its Saleem Hatoum actually Srbin, aparently the IAF has bought 70 MiG-21s from a European country last year, aparently half out fleet is grounded, half of our refuellers already grounded, PAF is more technologically advanced with its many ACM1, DACT, simulators etc facilities, is it any wonder why the mighty PAF is buying Mirages, also please note the attrition rate of the PAF from PIADs at 1.40 for 97-98, I wont bother to even talk about the IAF attrition rate lol.
Ares, please read before getting personal, I won’t bother responding to you anymore, another little kid, p.s, we asked for the Forecast Int link, I reposted your link here because it is more relevent to this thread, maybe the shower advice should be reversed?
No actually that was not what we were asking for Ares, maybe if you read correctly, we asked for the Forecast Int correct link!!!!!!
Aries has provided this link in the Pak getting old Mirages thread
Pakistan Airforces’ Gripen Fantasy

Now remember that “private TV channels” also reported that Pakistan was getting Quatar Mirages and belgian F-16s.
Aries again I ask you the question again
Will you please tell me which war the PAF won for Pakistan exactly? Jeez with all the IAF smashing, I wonder why we never surrendered.
In any event we can open up a new thread later on this one ok? I am more interested in the Saleem Hatoum comments.
