and gentlemen let us keep all this flame free, stick to links and numbers and not wishy wishy thinking
thank you
p.s I was not the one who started this but please see Saleem’s post for detail, one can only take so much and why not, it should be interesting to have a rational discussion here for once.
Air Marshal (Retd.) Ayaz Ahmad Khan in the PIADS article gives the following figures for the PAF
per 10,000 flying hours for time period 97-98
it was 1.40 attrition rate
I won’t bother putting the IAF attrition up there because this thread has nothing to do with the IAF and I do not wish to ridicule yet another Hatoum 🙂
Aries, will you please tell me which war the PAF won for Pakistan exactly, I seem to be confused?
Saleem I hope that you have a long proof of what you said above, I will have a nice time seeing how intelligent you are, I know you from acig, only on afm can you actually dare to say such things.
Saleem kindly proove what you have just said above please
1) Please provide me with proof that the IAF bought 70 MiG-21s last year?
2) PLease do tell us where you have heard the Il-76 figure from?
3)”PAF still has a very sophisticated and high standard in training pilots and by comparision IAF still lacks behind PAF in skill training, acquiring good quality pilots and the infrastructure to train pilots.”
Again please provide proof of the above or is it a pakdef trait to simply say things without backing it up
I was under the impression that the PAF does not even have DACT taining, ACM etc, but please provide with proof and show me how an airforce that is currently training with the best in the world aka the French and the Yankees is not good? Also do tell us of PAF training hours and recent training results?
Unless you can answer all these quesitons, please do not try to put lies around here, lol, how sad.
Hmm the MFI is a huge bird and will be quite expensive, who can really afford it?
Maybe Saudi Arabia will make a powerful political statement in the next 20 yrs when they retire their F-15s and then opt for the MFI?
and Saleem IAF attrition has nothing to do with this thread, in any event it would not be wise for me to bring up PAF attrition now would it, hence better stick to topic. More interestingly, does Lybia plan to replace its old Mirages that it plans to sell with a newer 4th gen fighter, perhaps an SMT a la Algeria.
Aries the Forecast int link does not work and people who are suscribed to the site have yet to find the article that PAF fan posted, the lad did the same thing a few months ago as well with the same Forecast int, we are still awaiting a link because I cant find it either, so would PAf fan please provide us with a workable link to the forecast int article about the Griphens in the Griphen thread?
Phrozenflame could you please tell me what flaming means?
Sabre Ace did not use any racial slurs and talked about aviation?
I seem to be quite confused as to how that qualifies as a flame?
in any event we are all waiting for a workable link to the so called forecast international article on the Griphen thread 🙂
I believe that the LCA FBW is certified for 4.5G sustained turns for now and -1G, they will increase this asap this year, PV2 will be taking to the skies late this year and weapons testing will commence.
While we hear a lot about the Kaveri relatively speaking, what is the news on the MMR? will it be incoorporated on the PV2? I assume that the first 8 LCAs will have some kind of radar, the Kopyo idea is not being taken up I hear but then that must mean that the MMR is almost ready or ready already?
bring it on
dude don’t worry, no offence is being taken and do not worry as long as you can come here with an open mind I doubt that flame wars will start, and btw I was not suggesting that you were saying all these things, I was responding to the article and posts made on earlier pages as well, sorry if i came out too strong. Hey the French sure taught us a good lesson a year before when it came to BVR believe me although their radars were better than our Mirages’ but we learnt a lot. And let there be no doubt that with AWACs and their jammers, the USAF would surely beat the IAF.
Of course the strike package would not be overlooked, but then again that is why you have an AESA anyway, you discriminate against the highest threat aka the escorts, destroy them and then engage the defenceless strike package.
tHE “US lost on purpose because of the F-22 this and that” is also suspect, it is not like the Indians are a bunch of curry eating idiots ready to please the Americans and their waste their equipment for F-22 lobbying, although the exact truth is difficult to come by, one must note that the IAF did learn a lot from the French who really gave us a lesson on BVR engagement and the IAF was very open about that, also remember that many of those Su-30K pilots have been loggin more than 220 hours a year, not a bad number at all, a number that will make any “F-22 lobby pleasing IAF pilot” a nice chance.
The strike package were not interested in engaging the F-15s, the number comparison is obviously mute but I guess that conviniently such fine detail can be forgotten these days. 🙂
Typical American arrogance, first off I really hope that this journalist knows somehting about aircraft, because if he did and actually asked around, he would have quickly realized that the 4 F-15s were not fighting vs 10-12 IAF planes but against 4-6 escorts!!!!!!!! Maybe Americans think that Jaguars and MiG-27s carrying bombs and nothing but short range heat seeking missiles present an actual threat vs their great AESA radar.
Advise to all indians
get out of this thread, it is not worth it, there have been so many such threads in the past, why am I not surprised that Zaheer or whatever his name is would bring up Kashmir on the Griphen thread, let them be, the Quatar Mirages are staying at Quatar, the Belgian F-16s are going to Bulgaria, the Mirage 2005s are not going to the PAF and as for the Griphen, let them say what they wish, this is a virtual forum anyway, I have made this bet already, if the Griphen deal is signed this time, you PAF FANS can post as much as you wish about PAF getting this and that and noone will ever even dare to say anything anymore, if not then please drop the dreams and no more of this every 2 months. This was the same 2 yrs ago, nothing much has changed.
Rubbish the US cleared spares for F-16s since at least 2002 (the latest but probably earlier)
and i doubt that the US would sell through third parties.
