The 30 year old married man with a baby was a teacher, not any teacher but a teacher for the mentally challenged. So sad and unbelievable. How can anyone leave his family and work behind and kill dozens like that.
I think that the only way you can do that is if you think that the people you are bombing are not humans but less than that, they are so evil and pathetic that you should kill them, but then again why immigrate or live in their country?
Hitler used to say that he’d rather kill 1 million jews than let his dog die, I think that a similar logic applies in this case.

The PV-2 will take to the skies next week, the IAF wants 20 LCAs and an option for 20 more rather than 40 without options. That is all that has happened, the rest has been magnified by the western arms lobby.
There is one thing you have to say about the LCA, its very public, from weekly progress reports from the designers themselves to detailed news releases, I cannot imagine ny other project in the world that has been so public and has been through so much scrutiny.
So that is agreed that the BVR capabilities of M2k-5 are superior to Mig 29. but thats only true in case of Fulcrum-B’s. Although in WVR the Mig 29 with its HMS is a far better option, due to its agility.
Which can also be stated that when we compare vanila version of the airframes and armament the Mig 29 is a superior aircraft.
Which in turn brings the question in my mind that when will we upgrade our Mig 29’s. Russia offered us (read forced) Mig 29k’s for INS Vikramaditya. Why did the GoI not include an upgrade of the existing fleet of Mig 29? We all know for how long the deal was stuck for Mig 29k’s. If we did not have an option we should have looked at the silver lining and got the best deal on the upgrades.
On the other note why dont we plan an indigenious upgrade of the Mig 29’s. We could surely use a lot of spin off technology of the LCA programme. Also the slow production rate of india made Su 30MKI can be used for a chance to upgrade the other a/c in the fleet.
This should comprehesively cut down the cost of SCM for individual upgrades. i would like to know the views of others on this.
Who told you that the IAF has not upgraded any MiG-29?
Years ago an IAF MiG-29 was displayed carrying the R-77.
In close range combat, the MiG-29 of the IAF have beated the Mirage 2000Hs hands down, I think that a ratio of 6-1 was mentioned. (air combat training)
I would really appreciate if someone could tell me what kind of involvement does India have in the development of PAK FA. I am sure the project can have a lot of benefit from the advance tech we use in LCA. Also when is the TD for MCA due?
There was talk two years ago that India and Russia had agreed to jointly develop the pak-fa, ever since noone really knows what is going on, wether India is really in or not because we have heard nothing substantial about the pak-fa in general. For all we know the MCA=pak fa or they are two different birds alltogether noone can really confirm anything on that front.
Also the ws-10a is not a reversed engineered al-31
Minus the obvious attempt at trolling such as “LCA not going anywhere anyway” by the usual suspects
It has been known for ages that the Kaveri was facing problems.
The PV-2 is supposed to roll out in ” a couple of days” as per ADA. We are all putting a lot of hope on this prototype. This is the one that is supposed to go upto 9Gs from 4.5G currently, this is the one supposed to carry the MMR and start test firerings but we have to be realistic, the pv-2 is complicated, its not easy to make such an aircraft, first will come dummy fuel tanks, then real fuel tanks and then heat seeking missiles, the intergration took longer than expected, certainly the ADA did not help itself when they kept on saying that the PV-2 would fly last year, then early this year, now in two days…. bad PR or they were just being naive. There are still numerous challenges that lie ahead but once all these tests are completed, the next fighter will be so much easier to design and develop due to its software and basic flight crontrol commonality etc… we can only cross our hands and wish the ADA the best.
There is no doubt that the LCA will finish its development because without the LCA there will be no MCA no nothing. Without the MMR and Kaveri the MCA will never fruitify and the govt will never reallocate funds when the LCA is not yet completed, at least minus the powerful arms lobbies in India, there are still a few like the President Kalam and others who will make sure the project continues.
The programme could have been managed better, everyone knows that too, certainly INdia should have gotten more assistance from abroad especially in terms of engine design and development, trying to make everything in house was unrealistic. The LCA will come when it comes even if its late. We will eventually master the engine, the su-30 engine tech transfer playing a key role in this regard.
People seem to also only concentrate on the final product itself, the LCA is a sum of its parts, some of which have already been intergrated in other fightres but certainly I do not see how articles published by vested interests will change the fact that the only fighter that will be able to replace the Bis on a one to one basis is the LCA and nothing else.
the LCA is not an FC-1, its a bit more ambitious than that in terms of airframe design and overall technology, prbably India should have opted to design an FC-1 first. As I look at an entire European consortium struggling to finish a Eurofighter, I cannot blame India for taking its time, its hard to validate software, its hard to build an aircraft with 45% composites and ITS HARD TO BUILD THE INFRASTRUCTURE to build all those above mentioned things at the SAME TIME. This is why I think that the article seems to pounce too much unfairly on the ADA. But what can we do, India is a vibrant democracy and critisisms of Govt funded projects with tax payers’s money is fair game but critisisms should not be taken as evidence of failure, the only failure would be to scrap the project and there is no danger of that happening.
There is no hard and fast solution to this type of terrorism, except the ball lays in the Asian community’s court,by this i mean they know their religion better than us they know the extremists in their religion better than us,they want a quiet peaceful life just like us.As for recent events i hope the racial attacks stop and people realise that that is what the terrorists want, thus recruiting more aggrieved and disillusioned young Innocent men to lay their lives down and so the cycle starts.
Sorry but what do you mean by Asian community?
There is only one community of a certain descent involved from Asia.

If they believe if their religion why can’t they be happy with that. If they don’t like western ideas, live somewhere else. There are millions of people, all with different ideas, religions and they all manage to live closely in the U.K.
Is the biggest sin not believing in God and the second biggest killing? Could it be that they think they can kill due to folk not worshipping their God, thus helping the cause?
dme
I think that the problem is that many of those guys think that the west is against them and is bombing them in Iraq and propping up Arab dictatorships and is very pro Israel etc etc etc but I agree with you, if you wish to live in a Taleban style country why not go back to your country, clearly if this way of life is so good, why bother leaving in the first place.

The Mirage 2000-5 costs 50M and the Rafale costs btw 60-72M, adding all those gizmos will make the price of the Mirage the same, this is why the French never developed the Mirage furthur.
It is not a question of where you get brainwashed but still I can understand some 20 year old loser but not a man who is married, has a job and a child, did he not think of the kid before blowing himself up? Do you realize how screwed up the life of this poor kid will be knowing that his dad was a terrorist and chose terrorism over himself?
Man they should ban religion, it does nothing but bad things. I cant imagine how many Muslims or anyone who looks like he is from the Mid East or South Asia will now be stigmatized in London.
I remember how Sikhs were targetted in the US simply because some dumb Americans thought that they were Taleban men.
There is even this story of this poor Indian pizza dlivery boy who was beaten and shoved in a truck, they told him to go back to Iraq. problem was that he was a vegetarian Hindu Indian guy.
