When did they start taking delivery of Cheetah C?
The Cheetah Cs arrived last may 31st by ship.
After they were assembled, they started the flight tests.
Last monday, one of the two seaters had an accident.
Apparently, something went wrong with the ejection seat and something caused an explosion in mid air. The student pilot got injured. However, the instructor was able to bring the plane back to the base.
They are investigating the accident right now.

Nice! This appears to be in an aerobatic team’s colours? Do you have any more information on this team?
Hi Albert.
You and the rest of Meteor’s enthusiasts will be able to read an article about the history of the Gloster Meteor in the Ecuadorian Air Force and the Aerobatic Team “Aguilas” – Eagles, by going to the next web site:
then look for the section “Aviones de Combate” . You will find the article dedicated to the Meteors which is also available in english by pressing the flag that is just below of the main picture.
Enjoy it !
I invite everybody to look at this page: http://www.FuerzaAerea.net that presents various aspects about Ecuador’s Air Force.
A couple of articles are written in english.
Thanks.
Outstanding pictures…….T-33’s with actual weapons!
I’ve been looking for something like that for a while.
Is that an LAU-68 on that right-hand photo?
What type of bomb is that on the left photo?
I’ve got a picture of a USAF AT-33A…..complete with practice bombs under the port wing. I’m not sure when the picture was taken, but I can only guess at the type of bombs….BDU-33? Mk-76?
Alas, the file is too large to be posted. How do you shrink the file size of photos?
I am glad to share my pics.
One picture shows the AT-33 carrying Mk-82 bombs.
The other picture shows an AT-33 with antipersonal rocket launchers.
And YES, they had their bautism of fire during the 1995 war between Ecuador and Peru.
No one was lost during the war. As a matter of fact, only one ecuadorean A-37B was hit by a peruvian SA-7 antiaircraft missile. The aircraft was able to return to Base with a wing and a prayer 🙂
Rotting somewhere? Maybe. But surely not in active service, at least since a decade. They weren’t in their order of battle during the 1995 clash with Peru.
Hi my friend .
The fact that your source says that the AT-33s weren’t included in the 1995’s Ecuador’s order of battle is wroooooong!.
Soon, there will be information unveiled about it.
It will be damn interesting for those who enjoy reading air war stories.

some nice peruvian pics…… 😎
1.-An un-common shot ot an antonov 26 being scorted by a mirage 2000 while dropping special forces..
2.-A mix formation: Mig, Dassault & Macchi….
3.-As a bonus, see the first photographic evidence of the super530 missile in peruvian hands…
4.-finally a pair of peruvian mirages2k along a F/A-18C
😎
Sorry to dissapoint any peruvian air force’s fans, but the truth is that the Mirage 2000P are not capable to carry such weapon. The Mirage in the picture shown is nothing else than a very well constructed model airplane.
This image describes an event ocurred on February 10 1995, when Ecuador and Peru engaged in an undeclared War.
Wow ! Do you have a link about the story ?
I must say, I’d be curious to have a summary of the F-1’s complete combat record. This plane saw action in many conflicts of various intensity and seems to have performed very honorabily…
The following link will tell You a complete story of events about the short war where a Mirage F-1’s Unit from the Ecuador’s Air force was involved:
Mirage F-1 JAs from the Ecuadorean Air Force prior delivery.
Mirage F-1 JA “Cobras’s Squadron” Ecuadorean Air Force.
