though there is no foreign military, it is a good strong line up. Just shows how good the display scene is at the minute.

The Auster and turbulent are well represented in the UK also. At least the harvard has a bit of oomph and makes a bit of noise to keep the audiance’s attention

I think the bottom line is that the general public want to see something fly, if they come and most of the stuff is grounded by a little bit of wind then they wont come back. Personally i wouldn’t mind if they brought more hardier types such as a Harvard or a Stearman as long as they didn’t get rid of ‘one of a kind types’ eg Hind, Gladiator, Tomtit, Tutor etc. If they were to sell something well they have 3 x DH60’s so surely one of them would of been a more logical step.

At last possibly something worth seeing IF they come. I seem to remember last year a lot of stuff was booked ( F-3 / Tucano / Hawk.) but never turned up:mad: . lets hope they confirm.:)

Personally since they have stopped bringing in decent warbirds then the shine has gone off it for me. There was nothing better than seeing OFMC’s and TFC warbirds power round the bend. Having been to OW over 50 times i feel the best days are behind it. Take for example the old military pageants of the 90’s, numerous visitors, awesome displays. Yes i do recognise the skill of the Shuttleworth pilots and engineers and the costs and effort involved in putting on a show, but for me it was the best place in the world to see powerful warbirds, jets etc being put through there paces and now seeing a Tiger Moth and Magister balloon bursting just doesn’t cut it anymore.

How can you not be impressed by the F-22, fair enough if it is the plastic thingy but as there are quite a few flying then it will probably be a ‘real’ one, same goes for JSF.

Shuttleworth has booked for D-Day show Piper Cub, Miles Messenger, ME108 and RAF Glider duo. Nothing worth getting exited about there then as usual. 🙂

The CAA aren’t always right IMO. Take The Lightening, they thought it could not be operated safely, and there are now several operating safely in South Africa. Maybe the CAA need to re-evaluate the situation regarding certain aircraft.
