About a year ago i found a collection of booklets called RP news cost me £1 at the time it’s ‘for all those interested in photographs of Aeroplanes, Railways and Ships’ first issue dates from july 1941 and goes on monthly till sept/oct 1945
Many thanks for taking the time to look and apologies for any inconvienience caused.
I know it’s a bit cheeky, but would it be possible to tell me if Windermere have secured a display on either the 29th or 30th of July. Many thanks.
That must of been ages ago, i was brought up in Kempston in the 80’s, was it used then as it doesn’t ring any bells?
The P-51’s involved at Mildenhall with the F-15 were BBD coded WZ-I and one coded VF-R which used to be with Intrepid Aviation though wether it was at that time i’m not too sure of. However it was slightly close and very impressive too.
Would have to be either a Harvard or a Yak-52, probably get an AN-2 as well.
Got to agree, in the late 90’s they used to feature around a dozen events and now there are just a few, but know doubt it will be in my prezzy pile at crimbo.
Thanks for al the replies chaps………. The Doug Arnold collection seems a great mystery, why was his collection of aircraft so secret?
I think it is the 31st March they will be retired from Colt, though one squadron will move to i think Coningsby before being retired in 2007.
Isn’t there a 109 at Wattisham, very close to flying for an american owner?
Somebody correct me if I’m wrong, but ISTR that Chris Gurney, proprietor of Cromer ‘International’ Airstrip was injured in the first crash of G-BINH at Swanton Morley.
How freaky is this, same name and both into aviation 😮
Chris Gurney aka nighthawk
…….and finally the RNHF Sea Fury

Mark,
Just read that the battle will involve around 800 reinactor’s is this true or a mis-print, as it will be well impressive if it is.
Cheers
Chris
