I know what would do if i won the lottery, ‘borrow’ Old Warden for a weekend and do a major warbird show at the field, none of this namby pamby avro’s and de havilland’s, just fill the spot with Hurricanes, Mustangs, Spitfire’s, that rather nice Harvard team that was about last year. Also make sure that as many of the displays as possible would be able to land on!
Also i like the idea of a downed vietnam scenario, get a couple of Huey’s, bell 47’s, Skyraiders, fennec’s, Bronco’s, F-86. Mig-15’s are difficult to come by so borrow a couple of Spadeadam’s SA-8 static displays for authenticity.
Onto the modern side have the Chinook display and of course the Harrier GR7A, maybe the RN Black Cats too. Again i,like the thought of having loads of German aircraft at the show again to keep it real though maybe a couple of those Pilatus P2 in formation with the Breighton Buchon and the ME108’s.
And to finish the show the Aerostars, rembering the rule of displays being able to land on!

Should go to arrivals and departures then, MiG-21’s, Mig-29’s, Phantoms, F-16’s, Mirage 2000’s, that should get your juices going…………

i think it’s a type of dornier, if it showed the rear i think you would see another engine in a push me pull you type of configuration

At the ripe young age of 67 I have finally realised that discretion is the better part of valour. Flick rolls by all means but not at 20 feet.

Top 3 shows for me would have to be
1- Mildenhall 1997, all the top jets and USAF Eagles going vertical opposite where i was standing.
2- Shuttleworth Air Spectacular 96, never seen the spot so busy with so many aircraft and visiting displays.
3- PFA Rally airshow @ cranfield either 94/95 when a Jungmiester done a cantacuzino flick, never seen it done before or since.

Any news on the SU-27 returning to the display circuit following the Lviv accident, it was provisionally down to attend Culdrose and RIAT last year but pulled out, still they sent a IL-76 to Leuchars so maybe this year the Flanker might return? Opinions please…………

Never mind the warbirds, did the F-111 do a dump and burn as usual?
