Admitidly maybe not thriving in the middle of a cold, wet winters day but most weekends are fairly busy, as for the rest just have a peak at the Heritage lottery funds website.

I just don’t believe what i have read, Leornato even if you are remotely interested in aviation then surely you would want to save an active thriving airfield, yet alone one which has a major place in British History such as North Weald. As to saying it is ‘unviable’ as an airshow location, then does that mean Old Warden is ‘unviable’ as well as that is just along the road from Duxford as well. And as for Ewan’s remarks about some religious building does the truth hurt! 😡 😡 😡

There will be an Airshow at the Airfield owned by BAe at Walney Island, maybe this is what you have heard? It will be on July 16th and one of the highlights will hopefully be Sally B!

My first visit was in 1992 aged 17. I’d never been before and was wondering what to expect. I got off the bus and was greeted to the Toyota Team doing a run and break and from then i was hooked and i loved the Spitfire and have been back over 50 times since. And somehow it’s only managed to rain on a couple of occaisions 😀

To start with a YAK-52, ever since my 21st birthday present of an hours aeros i’ve loved them. For touring i’d have an AN-2 fitted out with all the toys and the posh interior.

Nice piccies by all, did anyone get any of the Harvard team? Just as a kid i remember going to the Cranfield air show and air races and my attention being well and truely grabbed by the old HFT and their Beech 18, it was just the ‘noise’ which was awesome and sticks in my memory. Thanks
