I generally now go and ask the buyer that items are original before buying as I paid 72 quid for a WW1 photo recently that to me was a copy of an original.
I do remember Peter Balkwill very much as I was with Airwork Services Limited in South Yemen between 1967 and 1970.

Nice selection there especially the KC-135. Next time I am up I will have to get a picture of a Qatar 787. When I was in departures the Sunday before last, the sheer range of destinations amazed me compared to the old days. Dublin was probably as exotic as it got then.
Great shots there – don’t get too many of these to the pound at Glasgae.
Many Thanks for all the very helpful responses here. This is all totally new to me as I am a civil researcher more than anything. The idea of downloading them had a very strong appeal I have to say but I am getting my overweight carcass into gear and will go up.
Many Thanks

Thank you Sabrejet – I have a number to go through and didn’t want to hang around waiting too long.
Best Wishes

Very nice – These smaller places seem to abound in Russia.
Great shots, especially the Su 22s – you must have been close to where I was although my humble shots are nowhere up to this standard. It was a great day

Many thanks for all the replies – very helpful – a couple of PMs also sent
Thank you again

Adrian – it is getting closer to the area I am after and did not mention which is Glasgow. I think Glasgow had two Starfish sites. I am trying to find out when Z Rockets got under way which I think was 1943.

Very useful – thank you mmitch.

Hi Old Git, I think these pics are what you are referring to. A F-84F fighter. Don’t think it was a B-58 – it is a large plane, crew of three, range of 5,124 miles (8,247 km). Newspaper is from August 26, 1953.

Hi Don,
it is deffo a B-58 as you can see here (I couldn’t find the Flight article on it) obviously stripped down and without engines (carrying the prototype B-58 from Fort Worth to Dayton)
I am not sure if this link will work but if you type into google “B-36 carrying a B-58” it brings up other images.

Thank you Richard – that is useful – it hadn’t occurred to me to look back on the forum.
