as a matter of interest when a slide gets blown does’nt a seperate party have to check it being put back (ie CAA or some health and safety bods)?
The Huey(UH-1H) is a Falklands trophy, the Cobra(AH-1) is not, 2 different airframes
Thanks, I will need to brush up on my helicopter recognition. I have a photo of my son standing on top of the Huey taken about 10 years ago.
correct me if I am wrong but I thought the Huey Cobra at Middle Wallop was captured during the Falklands campaign
I don’t know if anyone saw it in the papers but the wreck of the Graf Zeppelin has been found upright off the coast of Poland in 130M of water.
There seems to be some dispute as to how she actually sank according to the article.

Great shots Robert – as always. You should try and see if any of the national newspapers are interested in the 2 fingers shot, might be worth a couple of quid.
Anyone here travelled on Air Seychelles?
I am flying with them from LHR to the Seychelles on the 15th of this month.
Anyone know what they are like to travel on, and what the islands are like for that matter?Any info will be greatly appreciated!
Ken
It is many many years since I was there and the airport was only just being completed so we went by sea from Bombay (although there was a light aircraft service from Dar Es Salaam). Mail was brought in by a U.S. Grumman Albatros seaplane for the US Satellite tracking station. I do remember the place as being absolutely beautiful. I prefered the second largest island (Praslin). I would love to go back – lucky sod 😀
That is Beaulieu.
Many Thanks
Probably Holmsley South or possibly Beaulieu -both have had virtully all buildings and most concrete removed but are still very visible from the air. Suggest you use Windows Live Local or Google Earth to see if you can recognise the one you saw and then give us a more accurate location.
I have just been looking at it on Google Earth. Its an “A” shape just to the North East of Lymington and South East of Brockenhurst.
Magnificent shots. The Edi picture in particular is very good.
The museum is good as you can park outside all day for £5 – the views are excellent as well.
The Museum is a superb spot as the grass area outside is not far from the taxiway – depending on which end of the main runway is in use.
Thanks for posting them and look forward to seeing more soon.

Paul & Tom – Thanks for the info. My world airports book says photography at Ciampino is discouraged owing to military movements and I suppose in the current climate security is going to be even tighter 🙁
I seem to remember T 28s were also flown (by Cuban pilots) in combat against Simba rebels in the Congo in the early sixties.
Great shots LBArules. I particularly liked the effect of the rain on the glass on the Easyjet
