Very interesting Britannia, do you know what length the runway will be after the extension? Also there is no mention of enlarging the terminal, surely with improvements on virtually everything else the terminal will need to expand or is it already big enough?
Excellent shots Tenthije. What is the B737 in the background of the first shot (Bulgari), I can’t quite make out who it belongs to.
Neil & Monty – Thanks for the info – I will give them all a try
Neil,
Those aircraft look pretty big for Blackbushe – Was Blackbushe actually used for regular passenger flights?

I suppose the obvious answer is when they stop flying them. However, the news article linked to above states that this was only the second incident the T-birds have had with the F-16 which they have been flying since ’83. One accident every ten years is phenomenal if you ask me, considering the number of hours flown both during shows and practicing.
I seem to remember the Thunderbirds had a major accident in the seventies during practising a routine called the “Mirror formation” where one plane flew right underneath another upside down. I think 3 or 4 aircraft (F-5’s?)were lost in the accident and the routine was dropped. I may be wrong but I am sure I read something about it in “AIR PICTORIAL” at the time.
Hand & Greekdude,
Thanks very much for the info, that has put my mind at rest. I have heard of chapter 11 but had no idea how it works.

Again thanks for the info, looks like I had better take my own supply of beer!!! :p
I loved Amsterdam and used to pass through many times and also used to visit Rotterdam but have not been there for years. I was amazed to read that Rotterdam is expected to have between 60 to 70% Muslim population (mainly Moroccan/Turkish) by 2017.

Don’t suppose he could get us lot some photos of what ever is there ? Personnal safety allowing of course.
I will ask him – the problem there is not so much the issue of security but Security being used as an excuse to hassle you for money.
Every time I hear her name it reminds me of a nude picture of her which I saw in an underground newspaper in the early seventies. She appeared “legs akimbo” and where her private parts were had been made into a kind of circular jigsaw puzzle you had to cut out and reassemble for your pleasure.
Heavyweight intellectual stuff.

I am only in New Orleans for 5 days and I was thinking of trying to squeeze a trip up to Memphis (to see Gracelands:D ). A car is just too long but I was surprised at the cost of flights. NorthWest and Continental were around $800 (same day) and even Air Tran via IAD was $507 with a return the next day. Its only the distance between London & Edinburgh and I thought flights in the USA were supposed to be cheaper than Europe!?
Many thanks for that detailed Info Greek Dude, its certainly put my mind at rest.
I am looking forward to the trip as I have only spent 4 days in the U.S.A. before (NY) and O’ Hare is an airport I have always wanted to visit.
Excellent 😀 :p 😀
Are they going to Kenya? Last time I was down there I got a good deal with KLM but of course you have to change which judging by the nature of the trip is not what they want.
