A quick update – My brother in Law got back to Kinshasa on Friday and he asked his colleague in Pointe Noire to check around. He is going up to the airport in a couple of days and is going to have a look. He did say the only thing he saw last time he was there were “The shells of old Migs”.

All Intl flights arrive at the Intl terminal (Terminal 5) and then you have to transfer to one of the others. UA operates out of terminal 1, AA out of terminal 3. As GZYL mentioned, just hop on the monorail. You won’t have to carry your luggage, you just put it on the interline belt upon exiting customs at the Intl terminal.

Thanks to yourself and GZYL for the info.
All the flights are United. I am arriving on United into Terminal 5 then leaving from Terminal 1 to New Orleans. The return is not so bad as I arrive into Terminal 1 and also depart from Terminal 1. But if all international flights are terminal 5 I wonder why it is terminal 1 departure to LHR. I have bought these tickets cheap over the internet from a place in Edgware Road in London. I unfortunately have an old fogies suspicion of paying money to people you are not sure of. If I was in UK I could check easy enough but trying to do everything from here over the phone/internet is a pain as well as expensive on the phone.

Before I saw the posted comments in favour, I thought it looked like a smart livery. Its not often a livery hits you like that.

Live music is king, go and see some tonight !

Spot on Ren. My youngest daughter is heavily into the music scene where we live and she usually drags me along to a couple of gigs when I am home and its surprising how much talent there is around but the poor sods never get heard beyond their local areas.
Also, I am as nostalgic as anyone for sixties and seventies music but as a friend of mine pointed out you also tend to forget there was a lot of dross around in those days as well. Maybe someone could start a thread naming tripe songs from that era. I’ll start it – “Tie a yellow ribbon”….:p

Durban seems an unusual destination – is it a holiday charter for a Safari type holiday?

My Brother in Law works in Kinshasa and visits both Brazzaville and Point Noire from time to time. I will pass your info on to him and see if he can find out anything.

After a quick search, I have to say you are right Steve. I am sure a while back I read something about them starting in Scotland before they went to Auz but it looks like the band was formed in Sydney.
Anyway thats it – as soon as I get back, all tapes/CDs/LPs into the bin 😡

I am absolutely certain I read somewhere that they were formed in Scotland (near Falkirk??) originally, I know Bon Scott was Aussie. I will have a look. It could also be that my alcohol ravaged brain is getting confused but before I issue an apology I am going to check this out.

They also say that AC/DC are Aussies but they started in Scotland and as far as I am concerned they are a Scots Band not Australian otherwise I could not like their music 😀

Martin, I wanted to post earlier and wish you the very best of luck. You may have days ahead where you might get cheesed off but I hope you stick with it because the rewards will be there at the end.

    Thanks-

I saw the AN 225 at Farnborough a few years ago. I don’t know if anyone on the forum saw the display it did but before it took off, a microlight taxied out in front of it and did a short display in front of the AN 225 waiting on the runway. It looked like a bee buzzing an elephant. Quite well done
