Yes…….hence the reason I said “picture” and then said “from the game Battlefield:Vietnam”.
What’s that F-4 from? Lock-On?
Yeah I was just kidding. Faking indignation at you posting a game picture in this thread. Yes, it’s a custom LOMAC skin. Had to post it considering your nickname.

And here’s an impressive Philippine AF Huey pic. 😉
For starters here’s a “picture” from the game Battlefield: Vietnam
What’s that? Posting game pictures? 😀
Ah strategypage , interms of credibility i would probably rate it as low as wikipedia if not lower .
First time I saw it I thought it was a parody page. It was the only way I could see any site having a t-shirt ad with a cute blonde standing in front of a jungle background, toting an AK-47 while wearing a t-shirt saying defeat communism.
Firefly anyone?
Can’t recall seeing any real jet A-G being depicted in any movie other than the Philippine F-5s dropping napalm in Apocalypse Now. I guess it’s too much to ask in this day and age that we’d get some footage of Harriers dropping real ordnance.
I think it was a Mel Gibson project.
Well that would ruin it. I checked his profile IMDB though, they’re usually well informed and none of the announced movies had anything to do with a carrier. Fingers crossed.
coup in an African state
Anyone read Frederick Forsyth’s Dogs of War? No heroes, just a little war funded by a British company with interests in the rich diamond mines in the small country.

Love that first pic, thank you for showing them. You see the fins of a naval aircraft parked on a carrier in the foreground while the old queen of the seas blasts off a lovely plume.
(Stop naming your carriers after old puckered men! Midway, Forrestal, Coral Sea, good names. Iowa is a good name as well. How are you going to say “Oh that Ronald Reagan, what a beauty she is”?)

From http://starfighter.no/web/life331.html
. – I mentioned the large russian excersises a while ago. I remember I was on alert with Henriksen and we were scrambled on a target at sea north of Andøya. When we arrived we flew into a giant formation of Badgers. How many I don´t actually know, there were Badgers all over the place, twenty or more. We took up position, counted and photgraphed till we were low on fuel and slid down on Andøya. There we were resupplied with fuel and film and launched again straight into another equally monstrous formation of Badgers. When we landed in Bodø a little while later I was struck by the absurdity. We had spent the better part of the day over the Arctic Sea flying around an entire russian invasion force and suddenly we were back in quiet normal Norwegian everyday life. The wife told us to take home bread and milk from the supermarket when we came off duty.
Link is in english and is a pretty good read with Starfighter pilots talking about intercepts.
Also in that link are pics of Cub + Starfighter and a waving Bear crewmember.
. There was Cub 03 and Cub 04 that shared the task each Wednesday. That was the milk run. But we were there and photgraphed it. The operator in the tail turret sat reading his Playboy or whatever, we waved at him, he waved back.
But we digress 😉
We do. 😉
About the AEW for the STOVL CVF, Mr.Beedall’s site mentions the possibility of rotary wing UAVs taking on the role, although this is of course a big “if”. It also shows some V-22 AEW concepts but says the program is unlikely to proceed.

My favourite ship;
RF-104G and Spitfire IX from Norwegian (they don’t call the Air Force “Royal” in Norway, so I’m not sure if we should call it the RNoAF, even though the country is a monarchy?) Sqn 331.
Somewhat related, here’s a side-by-side comparison picture of the F-104G and the CF-104 cockpits.

I would like it much more if equipped with F/A-35C Lightning and E-2D Hawkeye! That would show the French a thing or two! 😀
Well yeah, it’ll show the French that the UK MoD have been perfectly happy with shafting their indigenous aircraft industry, a tradition going back to the cancellation of the P.1154 and TSR.2 and resulting in them buying foreign products instead of supporting their own industry. An aircraft industry now a shadow of what it used to be, unfortunately. With no funding, what can you do?
I’m not interested in a F-35C vs X debate, I quite like the jet but if your industry is capable of making a product that fulfills your mission requirements, you should support your indigenous industry.
Why does the AMOS system have two barrels? Does it have an autoloader?
No, here’s a video of the AMOS loading system and firing.
Here’s a pretty thorough description of the program and you can see the AMOS being mounted on an attack boat, XA-20x and even a stretched M113 here;

“Capacity & Feed:
26 rounds/min (of which the first 4 in less than 8 seconds)”
“Range:
5-15km (mounted in vehcile – 10 km with standard 120mm ammunition. 15 km with long range ammunition. 5 km with STRIX), 9km (mounted in Strb-90HS)”
“Turret:
360° (traverse), -3° (depression), +85° (elevation)”

The last paragraph was added as an afterthought and doesn’t invalidate the first paragraph. Just forget it anyway. Single F404 engine, known for its reliability and serviceability, 6.7t empty weight, about 14m long and 8.5m across, relatively newly designed aircraft, low maintenance being a major design goal with the design house for 50+ years, this all speaks for low upkeep costs and ease of maintenance.
they wish 😀
Why don’t you think the JAS 39 has low maintenance requirements? It has a single RM12/F404, weighs, what, 6.7t+ empty, is relatively new while being service proven enough to not have any unforeseen maintenance quirks (operational since 1997 with Flotille 7) and is designed in a country that has had basic roadside serviceability as a design requirement for 50 years.
Heard of the “Johansson” bases? Sortie from AFB, launch your AShMs on the SU invasion fleet, split up, land your Lansen or Viggen on a small airstrip or road, call the reserve forces and ask them to guard it, finally knock on Mrs. Johansson’s door and ask for a bunk. Mrs. Johansson only has one bunk and you can only fit one jet in her garden but there’re lots of Mrs. Johanssons on the Swedish countryside. Return to partially bombed out AFB or roadside refuel/rearm rendez-vous next day. These are the conditions they’ve been designing for during the cold war.
By the way, I saw a doc on Flygvapnet’s website that said the JAS 39A exceeded their range requirements by 52%. That’s planning for doorstep fighting for you. 😉
