I got mine in two working days 🙂 🙂
So?
For anyone who does not have the Wanaka 2004 DVD, it is a must. I am not an avid airshow video fan but having seen my sons’ copy of Wanaka I ordered my own copy within a couple of hours. This is unlike any other airshow video I have ever seen. and NO I do not have any connection with Key Publishing sales.
JohnC. – Yes, it did   Sounded ‘orrible :diablo:
BR – An2 has not been at Baxterley for some time.
mcfier – Just seen a Shorts 330 out of Coventry and could possibly be mistaken for a biplane from a distance with that undercarriage and very deep wing strut. Did your sighting have twin fins?
Crocodile Dundee – when it was first released 😮
Here’s a pic. I took at the Shelf Museum earlier.
Whitley, carved in solid wood. Kit consisted several pieces of roughly outlined wood. Bought at Miss Hamiltons toy shop in Forres around 1940. 😮

I tried vari-focals and considered them downright dangerous when driving a car. Over a period of several months I had three different pairs ending up with the best available but finally settled for bi-focals. With or without single or bi-focal lenses I have good periferal vision but with vari-focals this becomes seriously degraded. If you go for vari-focals make sure that the optician will exchange and refund if they don’t work out for you. Good luck.

ps. With the bi-focals I sat in the aircraft and marked the bottom of the windscreen on a old pair of glasses so that the optician knew where to make the change between the top and bottom sections – works OK.
Hard to say really, but probably Hurricanes or Spitfires out of North Weald or Hornchurch or maybe Whitleys out of Kinloss and Forres. 1938/1940.
Landyman
when i was there there were some french(?) spotter type aircraft on the other side of the hangar along with a couple of american cars
These were Nord 3400’s and there was also a Fleet 80 there. One of the cars was an ex pace car from one of the US race circuits – so I was told. I seem to remember there was also parts of a Chrislea Ace there.
Hi all
I have just received this mail from a friend who was at Shotteswell today;
*** G-ASDL Terrier & G-ARKG Autocar, both ripped from their picketing, here is a picture that I took today, the Terrier is a write off the Autocar G-ARKG will need a new starboard wing and a lot of inspection, the tornado ripped across Northampton,Banbury and straight through Shotteswell, the aircraft apparently live outside and must have cratwheeled more than once judging by the damage,I have never seen a tail twist like that ! please promise me that you will never ever leave your ***** outside to the elements.
I will not post the picture (not my copyright) of ‘DL but believe me it is not a pretty sight – the fuselage is twisted and both wings broken (snapped). 😡 😮 🙁
I only wish I was not so cynical about government organisations but I’ve been around long enough to realise that is the only realistic thing to do.
You’re not alone Mike 😀

I have no problem at all with people hand swinging from behind but it is very foolish to hand swing from the front, private strip or not, without the a/c being chocked and preferably someone in the cockpit. In the original post on this thread both the pilot and the marshal were at fault and in my opinion the pilot should either have stayed in the a/c or stopped the engine – he was clear of the strip – the latter possibly getting some response from the marshal or someone. To exit the a/c with the engine still running and then pointing it directly at and then walking it to within a few feet of the public crowd was asking for criticism. I am well aware of the problems that can be and are experienced with tail skid aircraft but these problems are no excuse for dangerous and risky practices, especially when the public could become involved. 🙁
Propstrike.
Did it cross nobody’s mind to go and help the guy??
It certainly crossed my mind but then I was expecting a marshal(s)?? to go out to him but they just stood there looking gormless. By the time I had plucked up courage to jump the barrier it was too late.
Armwaver.
The event was outside of your normal area of operations and mine. 😉 but I have offerred my services for next year.
