I’ve never read so much r—–h in my life Tommy. I know people who have a hell off a lot of money that use Charter flights and use Low Cost not all people think like you. I also know people who are not so well off that use Scheduled flights. E.g. myself who uses full fares airlines from the likes of bmi & BA and still use the low cost airlines like Jet2.com and Ryanair.
Most people in the Yorkshire region know there’s an Airport at Leeds/Bradford. The problem is that there are not enough flights from the airport to fit the current demand. Hence the reason people have to still fly from the likes of Manchester, East Midlands, Teeside, Humberside and now Doncaster mate.
End off… Mods if you feel you need to change this please do so at will.
Hi
Well on my first and last experience of DSA was really bad. The Shuttle Bus from Doncaster train station had to reverse back down a little country lane as another vehicle was coming up the other direction and couldn’t pass each other on this small road.
Dose this happen a lot?? Is there any plans for better road access to the airport from the A1(M) and M18. As it needs doing ASAP surely.
P.s this is not just DSA bashing from an LBA supporter
Leeds/Bradford Airport is just as bad to get to from the Motorway network. A1(M), M1, M62, M621 & M606. One day they might make a new road unto the airport instead of having to go on a detour around Horsforth and Rawdon and the Leeds outer ring road.
Its even worse just at the moment with all the road works happening on the A65 on the lead up to the airport. Theres tempory traffic lights all other the place and not to mention all them speed cameras.
Nice shots everyone
Oh how I miss them Ryanair Boeing 737-200’s in real life. Bring them back someone please.

Also 6-7 hours on a flight with no entertainment, a bit lame if you ask me.
There he goes again with his IFE, Tommy take a book to read or either a MP3, CD or DVD Player. Now that should keep you busy for 6 hours.
We’ve had this argument before. Not again please!
If you do have a problem send Astraeus Airlines your thoughts mate. http://www.flyastreaus.co.uk
So one of my LBA routes has just been announced Banjul.
Nice photos there mate. Really good to see some from my local again. I’ve got to get up there again eaither tomorrow or saturday for some more photos

Thats as good as Tommy’s idea of SFO from LBA as well.
Maybe one day LBA might be able to sustain routes to New York Daily and Islamabad twice weekly. Weekly charters flights to Orlando, Banjul, Toronto and Shame el Sheik would be also nice.
But all this is a long way in the future still due to the runway restrictions and the terminal building capacity. It’s already at breaking point this summer. We are expected to pass the 3M passengers this year. But some expansion work is due this winter along with the opening of 4 new aircraft parking stands, which are currently been built
lba rlz Thats bad news for lba
Now what makes you think that?? For some reason I really don’t think MAN’s long turm Future will hurt LBA that much as it has done over the last 20/30 years.
MAN wants all the Long Haul/Point to Point routes while LBA still and will always has it’s place as an Regional Airport and will continue to do so in the future and beyond.
Yes Maybe LBA could substain a couple of long Haul routes but not on the same scale as MAN currenlty has and wants to have. Daily Business flights to New York, weekly Orlando summer sun flights over the Atlantic and aslo not forgetting A Pakistan/India Route Once or twice a week.

Also Jet2 are to put the LBA-Dusseldorf Winter schedule on sale very shortly acording to the http://www.jet2.com home page banner.
Hope that helps
Guys
Heres a bit of news for you about the new monday morning LBA – Dalaman Onur Air flights.
They will be operated by 315 seater Wide Bobied Airbus A300’s Instead of the normal A321 That appear at LBA every Wednesday evening from Bodrum
Jet2’s Leeds/Bradford – Geneva route is back on sale for next winter, Flights are to operate once daily again except on Saturdays when there is a second afternoon departure.
Also New for Winter 06/07 Leeds/Bradford – Milan Bergamo on sale too. Flights operating 4 times weekly on Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays and Saturdays.
Bridge 2 was actually used by KLM last week, and seen it on there a few other times as well.
I think it’s just a matter of which air bridge KLM get to first. But 100% certain KLM city Hopper’s aircraft are guaranteed an Air Bridge every night at LBA. While bmi british midlands Airbuses are guaranteed stand 6 at LBA every night due to its close proximity to the bmi exec lounge. Plus the LHR flight crews like to be first to get out in the race for the runway between 06:45 and 07:10 every morning.
The second air bridge is normally left open for either the late inbound Astraeus B737-700 or Thomsonfly.com B757-200 based machines in the summer. While in the winter season it’s normally sheared with Thomsonfly and Jet2.com’s B757’s
Air Bridge 1 = Stand 7
Is used mainly by KLM city Hopper’s. Fokker 70/100’s, Thomsonfly B757’s, bmi’s A320’s (But They over night on stand 6 most times) Currently nothing bigger than B757’s can’t park on stand 7 at the moment. Also this was partly owned by KLM when built.
Air Bridge 2 = Stand 8
All Large commercial aircraft. Also includes wide bodied stand. So B767 or B747’s have no problems. Jet2 seem to use this through the day when availble along with the likes of Astraeus, First Choice, Air Europa and the winter visits by Thomsonfly B767’s
Just to note that its rumored that Jet2.com owners Dart Group maybe folking out 50% along with the airport towards getting a 3rd airbirdge on stand 6 and a 4th on for stand 5. Though these’s would be restricted to the B737’s and A320’s sized aircraft. You maybe get a A321/B757 on stand 6 though i’m not 100% sure about this.
