This thread don’t want to ignite a French-Israeli war
We must remember that france is cooperating with IAI on the EAGLE
UAV system and that Israel will have disapeared since a long time
if the french had not delivered the Mirage 3 and magister to IDF
We must remember that Tsahal has a lot of French soldiers in it !!!
Some do a French military career before going to Tsahal so they have the skill for some special duties (I know one of them wich is a marine comando)
I don’t think the IDF want to hurt the french but my view is that when the Israeli agreed for UN mission in Lebanon they were thinking that it was only for ground troops with light equipments…
I think they were surprised to see Leclerc MBT, AU-F1 155mm artillery unit and Mistral Manpads so they provoque the French to see if they open fire
in “peace time” so they can be sure that they will not do it in “war time”
with the Hezbollah in a few months…

We must remenber that france was not very interested
to send more troops in lebanon because she knew that they will
face an impossible mission and that Tsahal was pleased to see the finul
deployed in lebanon so they could retreat with limited casualty to studies
the war lessons before starting a new one

I think finul provide them with an interesting protective wall
The only think they need is to made recon missions over lebanon

Chirac himself tell to the spanish president that there is a possibility
that the situation degenerate 5 or 6 month after the finul 2 deployment
but this talk was not due to be made public
Y think that he has some informations about an israeli or syrian / hezbollan / iranian agenda

they’ve got one battery of SATCP Mistral from the 57 RA of Bitche
A manpad system similar to the stinger but with a tripod
because it’s more heavy
They protect the troops, the AMX-10, the squadron of leclerc tanks and the artillery battery of AU-F1 (4) from the 1er RAMA regiment where y have done
my national service.
When y was in this regiment my chief was qualifying on the mistral
it’s a very modern system with a great probability of hit and if the IDF F-15 try an other time to intimidate our troops y think it will be only a question of politic that can avoid a shot down

ATL2 in the desert ???

Why is there a maritime patrol aircraft in the middle of africa ???

Don’t forget that french military in africa is very “evasive”
when y gave some informations about equipment it’s an estimation
because no one can confirm an air force or naval detachment in
this continent they are moving every time from a location to an other

FUDD REBELS

The FUDD Rebels want regime change in Tchad
The actual president is Idryss Deby and he is helped by the french
government
The FUDD came from sudan were they are equiped and trained but
nearly all of them are tchadians nationals
some of them were in the tchadian army before changing of side
The FUDD is trying to do the same thing that the FUC and the RAFD (two rebel groups opposed to deby) in april but failed with heavy losses when they were at the door of N’DJAMENA
Some uncomfirmed reports suggest that the town of goz’beida was taken by the rebels yesterday

tchadian rebels confirming firing missile

The tchadian rebels of the forces union of democratie and devellopment (FUDD)have confirmed that they have shot at the plane with a portable missile
probably a SAM-7 but they said that it was an error and apologised

A French military official said that the firing was detected and avoided
with an electronic device (ECM)

The french forces are based in N’DJAMENA in eastern tchad
they consist in general of :
1-2 Transall transport planes
1-2 Puma transport helicopters
2-3 Gazelles light combat helicopters
3-4 Mirage F-1 Fighter planes
The atlantique2 reconaissance plane is based in Djibouti

transportation for le bourget

Le bourget is 20kms at the north-east of paris
if you land at roissy CDG it’s 10-15 min by RER B train to Le bourget station
If you take the shuttle from england you will have to take RER B
from GARE DU NORD station in PARIS and then it’s 30 minutes

They were doing practice :
Eurofighter – one flight
F-16 – two flights
Rafale – one flight
Yak 130 – one flight (no paint on it)
Tornado – one flight
Mirage 2000 – two flights
F-18 – one flight ( with fake bombs !)
Mig AT but i’m not sure – one flight
Pilatus PC-9 – one flight

I don’t saw F-22 or F-35 ON THE TARMAC

I saw the SUKOI yesterday at le bourget doing acrobatics
he passed just over my car on landing, very impressive !
I love this plane !

I’ve seen the video of Ivorian attack on french TV
but the cameraman was far from the action, (about 1000 meters)
The two SU-25s made two reconnaissance passes at low altitude.
French officers were watching them without thinking they will
attack their camp, french forces were easily marked with flags
and orange colors on their vehicles.
A great parts of the french barracks were hit by the sukoi’s rockets
and at least a french VAB (french IFV) was destroyed

It seem to me very incredible that Ivorians have prepared to strike
and loaded their bombs only 600 meters from a french regiment
of nearly 700 men and have landed at the same base without
thinking of the consequences.

I think it was a suicide mission.
