Bushehr strike
Well y think a strike on nuclear facilities in Iran is possible
but to manage such a task will be difficult and could cost some
aircrafts to israel .
The most important is the dissemination of the facilities across the country and the fact they’re buried deeply. The number of targets is not known by
the public but israeli air force have surely lot more informations about that
This week we’ve learned that 500 bucker-buster bombs are on the shopping
list of Tsahal so we can imagin that a plan of attack is on the table now.
deliveries can be long but its possible US manufacturers have them on stock
so chronolgy of events can be faster than we think it’ll be !
perhaps months.
The ideal aircraft for a strike is the F-15I for its range and its penetrating
performances, they’re only 25 in the Tsahal inventory and they must be protected by a similar number of F-16 fighters
The better advantage for IDFAF is the surprise effect but when you have
50 aircrafts taking off at night the only solution you have to avoid the bad eyes is to transfert all the strike package to an airbase in the negev desert
An other difficulty is the refuelling
Refuelling is an obligation for israel in this mission so they have only
3 boeing 707 capable to do it (+5 KC-130H but they’ve not the range for long strikes)
US help is probable and you can be sure that 50 IDFAF aircrafts travelling Iraq to hit nuclear targets in Iran will not be a diplomatic
problem for america because if you sell 500 special bombs to israel to destroy targets in Iran you’re de facto an ennemy in Iran’s eyes
Sams for sure will be the big wall to jump S300PMU and Tor M1 SA-15,Hawk
MIM-23B, Rapier, HQ-2 (Chinese SA-2), SA-5, FM-80(chinese crotale)all of it
have quiet good capabilities and its difficult to think Israelis aircraft will be
able to avoid them all.
I know well the FM-80, my father has worked has an engineer 35 year on it.
It’s a chinese copy of the french Thomson crotale system comparable to the SA-6 but in the low area sector.
It consist of one radar unit guiding 2 launchers with 4 matra vt1 missiles each .The radar and launchers are mobile and the tests have shown 85% success hit with one missile and 95% with two on uav targets .
It’s a low-very low altitude SAM that is generaly used to protect airfields but it’s surely a good guard for Iran nuclear installations to face IDFAF tactics wich are very low too if you remember the six days war.
(they’ve no EA-6B to JAM radars !)
Israelis can use cruises missiles from submarines to try to destroy SAMS before the raid but they can’t fired a lot of them and if they do it they’ll
lose the surprise effect so y think they will not do it.
