Seems to be a common problem… and many of the answers linked below could be construed as old wives tales…

Reproduced from “Zerstorer, The Messerschmitt 110 and its Units in 1940” by J.Vasco & P.D.Cornwell [JAC, 1995]
09.09.40 – Fw.Eduard Ostermunchner & Gefr.Werner Zimmermann (both killed) of 9./ZG76 – Bf110C, WNr.3207 coded 2N+EP* – 100% loss – Rammed by F/O Boulton of 310 Squadron.
* it is unlikely that two aircraft from the same Staffel would carry the same fuselage code on the same day. This is likely to be an entry error in Luftwaffe records.

Very nice shot of the Bv222… and looks like it was VP501, the Bv222C-012, WNr.330052 which ended its days at Calshot where it was scrapped between April & June 1947 [Source: “War Prizes” by P.Butler, Midland 1994]

I do wish you’d pack it in Brian 😀 Every time you post these fantastic sets of images, I find myself looking around to see what deals I can find on your camera kit. I have some extra funds coming my way in the New Year so may have to take the plunge and see what the sales bring…
Anyway, thanks for sharing these images with us and keep up the good work 🙂
