Yes i got the same e-mail. The reply i expected really, Trying to pass on responsibility and blind us with corporate cr*p.
At least it seems we will get more chances to support our cause.
I got a Cambrian Mustang painted up as OFMC Ferocious Frankie, flys like a dream! Quite easy to build and finish also. All i had was an OS40FP so i bunged it in! The beauty is you can fly it on a scale sized prop (ok the torgue can be daunting – but scale!)
It flies around happily on about third throttle and looks real. I’ll try and post a pic up.
That is a very convincing Spitfire, looking forward to flying my 1/6th scale one soon ๐ ๐ ๐
I have a mustang with my initials on!
Mustang CJ-B – ferte alais 93 (from France Warbirds.com)
Does anyone know if this was an authentic paintscheme, because i have my doubts? Also i believe this particular aircraft crashed in the 90’s??
maybe it was HAC SpitVb BM597 taking a detour after the North Weald BofB weekend?
any other ideas?
Did you get a look at the codes?
yeah, i saw this site about 2 years ago, but haven’t really heard anything more of them. A few guys on the avi8.com forum questioned the images authenticity. I don’t know really.
They look gorgeous though! I want one!!!!:D ๐ ๐
Yes, thats what i thought Alexis. Lovely run in and break, Landing the La9 looked a bit hairy!! lol
In fact, for the first time ever, i plucked up the courage to have a quick word with the man himself (Ray Hanna for the uneducated among us!:D) when he was wheeling it in… “How does she fly Ray?” I said.
“Beautiful! – a bit tricky on the ground though!!” and he smiled and dashed off to get MH434.
The guy is a Legend in his own right. I have lots of respect for him, and always enjoy watching his flying-whatever a/c he is strapped into!
Oh btw, has anyone got any piccies of Goodwood?
Pleased to meet you Leah.
you are one lucky gal!
So… what do i have to do to get a ride in the gorgeous Janie then?! It seems nearly everyone on this forum already had a go – my turn!!!
Now, on a serious note. (lol!)
No, really… *puts on serious face*
At6pilot (leah?), who are you? cos everyone else knows you, and i feel left out!
Are you famous?! or do you fly one of those big metal tubs with a funny round engine on the front?:D ๐
*quickly hides round corner!*
Bugg er… Rumbled!
I wasn’t even at legends. ๐ฎ
Just thought i’d stir!
But Hey – Its late, its Flypast, that can mean only one thing—–
Its Pointless Banter time!!!!
Or what? *tacks challenging pose behind Chris* I’m not scared, honest
Or… OR!! i’ll cry!!:( ๐ ๐ ๐
and we don’t want that do we! ๐
All i ever wanted in life was to track P51 mustangs in there every move every day every month every year. I must know where she went!!!
Ok, no really, i may be dramatising it a bit :p
Eddie It’s not THAT hard to work it out, Chris!
Well, it probably isn’t, but i am trying to find out, without actually engaging my brain!:D ๐
I’m tired and all this thinking gives me a headache, so will sit and wait until someone announces it at FlyVintage or something. ๐
>> HEADLINE! Dissappearence of Mustang from saturday legends 2003 now clarified. Go to page 3 for the full story of this breaking news!<<<
:p
hmmm
i’ve got janie with me right now, gorgeously curvacious with a wicked smile… Oh cr*p! wrong forum!
So, enough’s enough guys! Either tell us where she went or else! ๐ ๐ ๐
a question
Would the Hurricane be allowed to Taxi without its wings attached? Or is this a big no-no… What are the rules regarding post restoration taxiing trials?
(ps. at least it won’t ‘accidentally’ fly before allowed to ๐ )
wow
Thanks guys for all your help so far! Thats a cracking picture Mark12. Is there any documentation attached to it or from the same source with a bit of history about him, that aircraft and 64sqn itself?
I want to make a portfolio for my model which will include details of the original aircraft and Baron Michael Donnet, The HFL example and my 1/6th scale example.
Thanks again guys
Nope, don’t think so. Last i heard it was on permanent loan or something. Damn shame. It was nice seeing the XI amongst the other spits, very distinguishable.
Oh well, one of many lost ‘Stateside’ (no offence to any US nationals)
