    Stunning work! 🙂

I thought the BBMF had fitted P7 with the original-style exhaust stubs, or did I imagine it? Or were they fitted but taken off and replaced with the later style?

You know what, I noticed that too!

I’ve got this photo a friend sent me while she was posted to Coningsby temporarily early last month.

Maybe they weren’t ready in time.

Great pics by the way TEEJ!

I see they are now Simply Home Entertainment:
    http://www.simplyhe.co.uk/

By conducting a quick search on their new site I received 0 results for ‘Over Here’.
I hope you receive your DVD Moggy, or a refund if not. Shame, I really wanted this for myself!

That’s great news, thanks for the head’s up Moggy. However, after searching on amazon.com, amazon.co.uk and play.com, I see no sign of it.

Think you’d better ad the TFC Vb EP120 to your “airworthy but not flown at the moment” list as it was lacking its “loud up-front noise making facility” last week and is by all accounts remaining silent for the coming months………

Is it winter maintenance time already!? 🙁
Crikey this year has flown by! (If you pardon the pun :p)

Talking of TFC Spitfires, the Mk.18 is looking rather lovely these days. It will be nice to see her in formation with the Mk.XIV in the next year (or so).

Two questions to ponder over however…
    What livery will she wear?
And, will those wingtips make it into the air?! 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

(Ps sorry to hijack the thread, it is Spitfire related! Besides, I’m not sure another Spitfire thread will go down very well!)

    Excellent news!

Thanks for the report and pictures Mark.

So *dons Spitfire spotting hat* that makes it 5 Spitfire Mk.V’s ‘airworthy’ at the moment I believe:

    Vc JG891 Tom Blair DX
    Vb BM597 HAC DX
    Vb EP120 TFC DX
    Vb AB910 BBMF Coningsby
    and of course now BL628!

The other two ‘airworthy but not flown at the moment’ would be:
Vc AR501 Shuttleworth (Currently being refurbed)
Vc AR614 FHC Arlington (Has this actually flown recently?)

I think that’s all the Mk.V’s at least!
I’m sure those better informed will correct me 😉

Here are some photo’s taken by my father at said airfield sometime in the 80’s at one of the Great Warbird Air Displays. I know, they’re not fantastic, but it may jog a few memories for us.

Would anyone care to hesitate a guess at the year? I have others from the same show if it would help (for another thread maybe)

Thanks for the feedback. Believe it or not the chevron is the right scale for the aircraft and the cross, when viewed from the side, it looks better. The white band around the fuselage still has to have a black edge either side of it which will appear to narrow it. The paint was supplied gloss, when it was ordered matt, but, as its going to be a working everyday aeroplane it will be easier to keep smart. But at least I have got out there and done something than be a wannabe who just talks about it. No offence meant, I do appreciate constructive critism, but not snide remarks from some who never do anything but talk a lot.

Please let’s not have this thread start into a flame war.
I think it’s great that an owner/operator of such an aircraft has taken the time to share their hard work with us. I’ve always believed it entirely the owners right as to how they finish their aircraft. Be it to our taste or otherwise. Constructive critiscm should always be welcomed and appreciation given where due.
Then there’ll be peace on earth for all men (and women) and we can fly happily ever after!

Sorry, i’ve seen too many topics like this descend into the depths of ridiculous discussion. I’m not pointing fingers at any one, it’s just I have x-ray specs and can see where it’ll go!

    On topic now…

I think it looks fantastic Wulf190a, is your aircraft the one we used to see display at West Malling many years ago?

    Forever in our thoughts.
Eight years, my god how it passes quickly.

Mark was an inspiration. As was his father.

As a boy, it was seeing these two ‘perform’ that ignited my aviation passion and cemented it for evermore.
    I’ll be forever grateful!

    We all miss you tremendously.

    Blue Skies.

    Utterly speechless.
What a terrible loss. My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends of those lost today.

2007 is really looking like a black year for aviation.

Consol, you’re quite right. My mistake!

I was near Headcorn flying models again today and heard what sounded like the Yak-3 takeoff and depart. Was out till sundown and didn’t see/hear it return.

Did however see a formation of 4 Yak-50/52’s fly in to the aerodrome in a lovely echelon formation.
