I’m glad that this thread is here, i was curious about which RAF base it was as, but not curious enough to subject myself to it!
Milt.
Good to see you’re still making progress on the old girl mate, more pics when you get the chance! When do you hope to drop the first donk into place?
Milt, thanks for taking the time to post those shots of the internal organs of a lightning! It’s certainly not built with the engineers in mind!
Outstanding work thus far mate, having seen our sooties employing military grade swearing when installing FCU’s and the like, i can only imagine what that day must have sounded like to visitors!
Must visit this summer.
The website hasn’t been online for quite a while mate, but to the best of my knowledge they are still open! Deffo worth a visit as they’ve got soem interesting exhibits.
Thanks for sharing these with us, This Airfield is only about 20 miles away from me, yet I didn’t know the museum existed! One to visit in the summer.
^^^^^^^
😮
Never seen a view from that angle before! Thanks for sharing! Easy to see similarities to aircraft aht followed it, clearly stolen their ideas from TSR 2!
Milt, great update as usual! What’s the story behind that Avon you “found”? Need more info please!!!
This is great news IMHO, i wish them and their team the very best of luck and lookforward to seeing the results of their labour!
Had the pleasure of walking around Horseguards after all the marching last Tuesday, quite enjoyed it. I took a few pics on my phone that I’ll sling up if anyone is interested.
Great idea for a reference thread mate. Thaks for including us!
You’re taking your time Darren, should have finished by now….
In all seriousness mate, bloody well done!
Quite simply stunning! Getting power on brings the cockpit to life, incredible work.
So what’s next for her??
Ian, good to bump into you at while back at Newark mate, keep the thread going please, very interesting stuff. I don’t manage to get to Elvington much as it’s a 3 hour drive each way! Did manage to get up recently and thankfully Andre showed me round Lindy, also got to collect some things and watch Ollie give a demo on how not to climb a fence, all in all, a fantastic day!!!!
That episode of monster moves is on channel 5’s on demand website.
Not sure if it’ll play in Oz though, might have to use a VPN.
But you’re not missing much unless you want a lesson in how NOT to move an Aircraft…
