I was under the impression that your not allowed to go near alcohol 24 hours before duty?

Also if (and I say if very cautiously) the 757 did break-up in the air, is it not possible that the break-up was caused as a result of the purely mechanical, gravitational and aerodynamic forces imposed on the aircraft during a loss of control following a struggle in the cockpit?

I think there are three conspiracies out there if not more but 3 that make a lot more logical sense
1) The Plane was shot down. Now I know that the American Air Force wasn’t able to make it to New York but could it be possible that they made it from the Atlantic Ocean (yes that is where they were sent to, again was that just in the chaos of events) to near Washington and shoot the plane down. Again as you say Creaking Door it was spread over 9 Mile on the Road but how come the wreckage was spread only 1 mile . Makes you think. Who got there First FBI, Goverment Agents or the actualy inocent Public, Fire men along with police and NTSB.
2) The plane,as is said in your quoted post by myself,did infact break up during flight. This is another possibility, it did a rapid and I mean rapid descent from I think around somewhere in the 30,000 FT mark to about somewhere in the 20,000FT or even lower in around two minutes. That is a pretty rapid descent and only one you would see a Professional perform in a Emergency. This could possibly lead to the break up with all the stress that it was under.
3) The Plane, as said in the report, Crashed. But as you have said in the post how did they manage to get through the cockpit door and what went on during the attempted take over of the plane by civilians. Are we 100% sure that is was terrorists flying the plane when it crashed. Could it be that they had regained control but because the plane was soo out of control it crashed.

In response to A-Spalding i was only try to make the point of Big Cities (Stockholm, Copenhagen, Barcelona, Milan i think LS use the same airport dont they, Rome again LS use that airport, Frankfurt, Belgium) not Bucket & Spade routes or Cities inside UK, Ireland, Scotland etc
People on here dont really think like a customer who knows very little about the whole industry.
No one cares how old a plane is as long as it gets them from A2B.
Hardly any will cares about the leg room on a flight under 4 hours.People esp at the time of downturns like now only care about 2 things and that is the price and times.
Make that 3, how far away you actually are from the destination you payed FR to take you to.
Now i know people will take this into account when buying airline tickets, but some pepole will just see FR selling cheaper tickets to LS. They wont half get a shock when FR Purser reads out Gerona-Barcelona or Frankfurt-Hahn etc
Is this no 4 of there miss haps during flights, before landing and after takeoff?

Well these are the basics, I would imagine it could possible take upto a year before you have eventually deicded to operate the aircraft
1) Make sure you have a good few million in the bank (£5 and above is good below well in this day and age not soo good)
2) Decide your ‘home’ aiprort
3) Decide your first few routes
4) Employ staff ranging from the trolly dollies to your Sales and Marketing Team
5) Decide an aircraft and how your going to config your plane, and the type of service you will have onboard
6) Fly Make millions and become powerfull
7) Turn around to those who doubted you and basically look down on them.
That is well the basics to starting up your airline.
I would imagine the BA-IB plan will be like LX-LH and AF-KL (although i dont think that LX-LH share the profits, is it that they are run under different CEO’S or something like that, i know that AF-KL is just one group but run sepratley).
I would think that the the AA-BA is like KL-NW or AF-DL combination?
I like the shot of the Lufthasna Training Jet. It looks more like something the top people would get around in in germany.
