    Nice stuff.
What was Dubrovnik Airline in for? I’ve never seen them at LHR. What time did it come in?

Good Question EGTC, I assumed it was covering a Croatia Airlines flight

    Regards

    Makes for very good reading

I am supposed to fly LBV – FRA tonight on LH567 landing at 6.45am tomorrow morning and then on to IAD at 11am on LH9290/UA0953. Is there any news if Frankfurt will be open tomorrow morning?

Not looking likely, united airlines put a european flight cancellation alert indicating most flights to europe are disrupted and are issuing travel wavers to all passengers affected by this for passengers who purchased tickets on or before 14th April.

    Check out the link:

Well, my parents showed up for their flight from Bangkok to Doha yesterday and were told – obviously – that their onward flight to London was cancelled. Instead of flying them to Doha, which I guess is going to be swarming with stranded passengers right now, Qatar Airways suggested they stay in Thailand and return to the airport on Tuesday for an update.

Unlike many others, my folks are happy that this situation has resulted in a four day extension to their holiday!

My folks are in the same situation in New Zealand, they have done they are going half way at least (San Fransisco) and waiting there, United have bookes them onto the Wednesday afternoon flight, not sure if that will be running yet.

On tuesday I have a meeting in Zurich, again doubt that will be running as well, and will only fly if I Know I can get back to the UK

Thanks for that, I’m flying to Oz, via Hong Kong with Cathay very soon! I don’t like the airline anyway and they aren’t anywhere near as good as Singapore Airlines.

I flew them 4 months ago to Oz for the first time in a long time, I usually fly SQ on this route, and I will always stay with SQ after my last experience with CX. Found the new seats too uncomfortable and the service on board was lacking compared to CX. I feel that CX is not worthy at the 5 star status skytrax gives it. However, a few months ago the skytrax website showed CX 5 star status as under review. But after a quick check it no longer says this sadly. My main complaint is the new economy seat, which okay I do like the principle that no one can intrude into your personal space; It requires I think around 34″ seat pitch for a seat like this to work and more padding in the seats as your backand other areas are going to be a bit painful after a 12 hour flight, then add on the next flgith and you are in agony after the flight. IO was and didnt enjoy it, so you can say ~I wont be using CX again on the Kanagaroo route, SQ is the best and most comfortable way methinks.

Emirates 777’s do a 3-4-3 configuration compared to the usual 3-3-3 most airlines use on a 777.

If you do want to fly Emirates the whole way get the a380 EK service out of LHR, as of July it goes double daily

I have had the deilight of flyinh an EK 773 and wouldnt fly on one again (on flights to australia it is a awful configuration. Take the A380, I have done the SQ flight to Singapore (and vice/versa) several times, and Im using it again in August, and the A380 is fantastic, but EK doesnt have economy upstairs unlike SQ.

I wont be going back to it at those prices, went a few months ago about 45 monutes before they were due to close and the hire car I was using wasnt due back until 1900, so thought I would go along, and was still shcoked with 45 minutes to go they wanted me to pay full price to go in. Needless to say I didnt bother, but I did wirte to the airport to complain about this and got a nice letter back to say the chages were under review.

However, the charges do seem a little over the top for what is a viewing point and a safe place to park the car for the afternoon. Will be using the plane-mad website next time and use an unofficial spot.

Not bad, not bad at all, like the easyJet shots,

I was up at luton today as well, think I got those easyJet planes as well, but got bored of the non stop easyJets and left, only to see a Ryanair going overhead as I was leaving.

Will have to post them when I get a chance.

    1. People who chat on mobile phones whilst in the quiet zone of a train
    2. People who drive through red lights
    3. Leaves on the line in winter as an excuse for late running trains
    4. Local councils obsessed about health and safety
    5. Self service checkouts in supermarkets
