    Martin,

Would you happen to have a new style ‘spanner rating’ for how difficult a task is ? 😀

(Thinx: Wonder if Haynes have graded the Spit’ manual the same with Fluffys help ?)

    Hi All,

Some pictures of the trial fit of the restored centre console.

Just needs fitting of one placard, fabrication of one new rpm knob, painting of fixing heads and new build of a trim drum/handle.

With the exceptions of compass, BA screw fixings and two knobs everything else is original.

Main panel and zigsaw of cockpit main frame are on the bench awaiting work.

    Regards
    Ross

Crikey Ross that was quick work, you’ve only had it… what… 4 weeks 😮

    Nice one……. 😀

It is due out in early October and it is on the Haynes website….

Is it ? Can’t find it in the ‘Air’ section and using ‘Search’ for Spitfire, only returns 2 hits for the Triumph version. Do you have a link ?

Saw this on this morning’s habitual catch up with the news on the BBC website: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/somerset/6927391.stm. Although it it difficult to say, given the poor quality of the caption photo there looks to to be quite a large piece of wreckage. Does anyone have any more info?

This one discussed here recently perhaps ?………

WB556 was sold on E-Bay earlier this month.

Yes indeed it did, as stated in post #3 of this thread.

Myself and it’s new owner are collaborating on our mutual parts needs.

    Cheers……..

    Welcome to the forum Swifty.

If you look along the menu bar at the top, you’ll find the ‘Search’ facility. If you then select ‘Advanced Search’… the worlds your oyster. Many previous posts about the B-25’s, but here’s a couple of pertinent examples……..

    C/N of WB555 is C1/0006.

Incorrect. WB555 is C1-0007. Build number DHHf.7 (Hatfield built)* I won’t bore you with the details of Chipmunk production but they dont always follow in numerical order. I’m sure Bruce will give us his thoughts.

Presumably Wrecks and Relics would have a note of this one?:

In this case, no. Contrary to popular belief, W&R is not the be & end all. Many entries are merely carried forward from previous editions and only amended if new details come to light. Many private owners wish to remain private.

I can recommend http://www.demobbed.org.uk/ for a more current online resource.

Next up is an Eastern Express B (i) 8 Canberra, this is my 4th Cranberry, and when complete my Canberra fleet will have 7 different Mks 4 English & 3 USA. This kit although from the photo looks good, was to be honest total pants and I wont be buying an EE kit ever again ( hey ok it was cheap and it was the only 8 I could get at the time) and the serial is non existant (XM260)

Let me know what u think be it good or bad?

    Bex

Very nice Bex, but not sure what you mean about the serial. I have many Canberra spares and decals also if you need replacements ?

    😉

…..so if you have a cockpit of a Hunter, please be part of this line up. We particularly need an F4 and an F5. The latter I used to own!!

    Tony,

Surely you mean the former ? (i.e. the red F.4)

    Cheers…….
