… The jag will never get any attention what so ever 😮 , that much is certain, its a lost cause, and theres no point since a good jag is in storage just around the corner, and will arrive at some point. MJR

    MJR,

Would they consider offering it for sale then ? I sincerely hope they would consider it instead of throwing it in the nearest skip…. 😮

Ooh thanks for that. Hopefully the Jaguar will get some TLC (and parts) as they’ll be a glut any day now 😉

I’m no expert on turrets, but this FN5 stuff may be worth grabbing.

Anybody seen this yet (plus sellers other items)….?

…. I have listed a photograph of a T22 panel from my collection on a previous thread on this forum, to locate the picture search under “Canberra TT22”. Good Luck.

    Or clicky here…. 😀

Has anyone got photos of a T22 cockpit or a parts list so i know what to look for. Tried airliners.net and jetphotos net without joy. not seen one on LesB’s site either

Look again, Richy Doel is your man, he owns the last surviving T.22 WT525.

You can reach him either on this forum, or via his website, clicky here….

    And speaking of Nord’s…..

…anybody know the status of Noralpha G-BAYV, passed from many pillars to posts before being reduced to a fuselage only, last noted in the car park of the (defunct ?) Botany Bay/Bygone Times attraction in Lancashire ?

Does anyone watch ‘Over There’ on Sky? it’s a programme set in Iraq and I think it’s quite good but I wanted to hear your opinion.

Oh yes indeedy, glued to it every Tuesday (repeated Wednesdays).

A modern version of ‘Tour of Duty’ ?

….. so I had to take my hat of to the guy that put all the work in!!! When I spoke to him (without my notes I think his name was Barry Field) he also added that the measurements used for the tubes were ‘educated calculations’ based on the parts that they had recovered (not having access to the Duxford example to measure).

    DaveR et al….

Yes, pretty sure the guy was Barry, as he made it for the museum but his end product was limited by the material they had for him to work with.

Thus inspired, he subsequently purchased my large cache of Tempest/Typhoon parts for an equally large sum of £, to build his own cockpit, which i assume he is still doing (?).

Of all the Hawker stuff i’ve dealt with, i found the Tiffie/Tempest the most difficult to acquire parts & info’ on, and hats off to Rocketeer with his Hurricane (thinx: wonder what tube he uses ? )

I think you’re thinking of the recoveries from the Dutch Polders noted in Bruce Robertsons ‘Epics of Aviation Archaeology’ c.1977 (PSL) from memory as James says the majority of recoveries were carried out because of sea defence and drainage work when the airframes themselves were not regarded as being ‘worth’ anything except to the scrapman. IIRC there were several B17s – one very intact, a complete B-24 and a Wellington amongst others.

    TT

Indeed a cracking book TT. 😀

Sea Hornet remains, Liberator noses in orchards, and they actually scrapped that Dutch B-24 after all the effort 😮

RAFM has one under rebuild, as does East Kirkby (long term) and theres one in Canada based on an original nose, remnants of an under water wreckovery & fibreglass.

    Link to their website…
