Looks german is it landing gear part?
Pete,
Dont forget this item is located downunder. Doesn’t rule out German origin i know, but the part number BS 4455 ISS 2A might do ?
Cheers……….

First thing I would do if I had some recognisable parts from a known machine is hunt the owner – post something like ‘is the Sealand Hunter still on the gate?’ would work.
At risk of repeating myself, all current info’ such as W&R 20 (to which you contribute) and ‘Thunder and Lightnings’ puts this airframe at RAF Sealand, so i would not have the time or inclination to contact the MOD etc… to see if it actually was still there. 🙁
She belongs to Nigel Spur – I am sure he has something which you would like as a trade /swop etc .
Ok fine, but you have all my contact info’ plus the PM system on here, so why didn’t you say so in the first place…. tut
.
It’s been in the Newark area for a good while now….
Ok, and i’m supposed to know that because…..?
I’m a mind reader… No
Someone tells me….No
My PM box is still empty on the subject… YES !
etc, etc…..
I would very much prefer this panel to go back to the airframe from which it was removed (stolen ?), so as i said, if you know where it is, why not get in touch…? (assuming they want it original unlike E-412’s owner at Brooklands who is determined to ‘convert’ it to an F.4)
.
Dave,
Its the panel that came with WN957 which as you well know, is NOT an F.51 variant. Therefore it is surplus to requirements.
Current issue of W&R 20 has that airframe on the gate of RAF Sealand. If you know otherwise or indeed know the owners, why not get in touch via PM instead of launching a new thread on the forum ?
I mean really c’mon……….. 😡
.
Any of those covered switches going spare ?
.
Folks,
Photo of the mystery item posted on Dave’s behalf……..
What with the good news that Airfix has been bought by Hornby, suppose all those surplus TSR2s wont be worth anything now. What a shame!!
Martin,
Have you noticed the TSR.2 market die off a bit recently ? I have, but conversly have the seen the price of Vulcan’s creeping up & up ? 😮
.
Sounds a bit alarmist to me. What about Xtracolor? Still available – and still the best, in my opinion.
Eric,
As i said in the Airfix thread over on ‘Historic’, just Google “EU paint directive” which i think comes in January 2007.
It certainly concerns automotive cellulose, enamel and two-pack paints. My local LMS owner told me the scuttlebutt about Humbrol discontinuing enamels, but as i say, just search on Google for the techinical waffle about it.
Cheers……..
If you look on the modelling forum , you will see there is a link to the Hornby website, where Hornby actually seem more interested in Humbrol than in Airfix! Though Dave T sounds a note of caution.
Paul,
Well only in as much as you wont be able to purchase enamels any more (not just Humbrol), and i’m sure there’s some automotive industry forumites who can confirm that cellulose, 2-pack etc… is going as well, as a means to saving the planet etc, etc….
Just Google “EU paint directive” which applies from January 2007 IIRC ?
Cheers….
.
This photo of the nose at Coltishall courtesy of ‘Demobbed’…..
Which means I can stop stocking up Humbrol paints 🙂
Not so.
Apparently within the next 12-18months, all the enamels were due to be discontinued anyway (along with cellulose, 2-pack etc…) as part of an EU directive to make us all use ‘orrible acrylics for everything.
So carry on panic buying ‘cos i am 😮 😀
.
“this picture may end up as a caption competition, but who cares, just look at the ar*e on that…!!”
.
Sorry, i dont have it myself.
Anybody else….?
.
Tony,
Wasn’t it the stick top off XR219 that was/is kept as a souvenir by the range guy at Foulness in his office ?
Maybe its the same one ? Or from another TSR.2 ? Anyhow, i seem to recall something about it at the end of this video…….
.
The Stealth already posted – you just didn’t see it.
Nah, that was the other bigger fat one that couldn’t get approval for any more funding ! :diablo:
