    my two €cents:

picture collecting has become an increasing business lately, but 1.010 €uros for a print is nonsense.. I theorically would have spent the same amount for a negative, but not for a print.. I’ve spent WAY more for rare Luftwaffe watches, but under a mere economical point of view there’s a market for them, while a print… chapeau to the seller though, who surely at first made money with the magazines to publish it, and then sold it on ebay πŸ˜‰

my goodness, that must have eaten a lotta time to finish, innit?
U probably posted it before, but u have a sorta history of your restoration and/or a website? I’m always fascinated by such projects with a lot of work behind πŸ™‚
Will we be able to talk about it at Legends? πŸ™‚

This reminds me of my first restoration job as a volunteer with the italian association called GAVS. I took part to the first steps of the project, an original Spad VII who needed a general overhaul for static display. Once we started removing the canvas over the upper wing we found the following:

    1) a set of ribs remade with thick plywood!!!
    2) balls of newspaper pages from 1962!!!

    ah, vintage restorers!

Well, I’d love to have one of the following:

    Macchi 205
    Fiat G.55
    Bf109
    FW190

Considering that the last 2 could be made new from Flugwerk at a “reasonable” price, I guess it’s just a matter of winning that darn lottery πŸ˜€

    Alex

    P.S.

The highest amount won with the most famous italian lottery, called “Superenalotto”, is something like 110.000.000 € ….. I have shivers only thinking about it!!! U could buy the whole “Duxford package”, grass included! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Stieglitz, that Viima is simply awesome, u r a really lucky chap to fly with such machines πŸ™‚
A curiosity: the Siemens Halske engine is the same used on my friend’s Fokker Dr.I replica. A really nice engine, but I always thought it’s too delicate to be used on aeroplanes πŸ˜‰

How about a Parks P1, or P2, as owned and barnstormed by Richard Bach, and described in ‘Nothing by chance’ – great book, by the way.

I was thinking exactly the same!!!
According to him that plane was a bitch!! πŸ˜‰

another point I forgot about spotters: many of them are selfish.
Ok, u paid the ticket (like the others did), u have the right to take all the pics u want(like the others do..), but please, leave at home your darn portable ladders! There are other ppl behind yr arse that would like to shoot a video or take an “amateur picture”, the fact that u r a pro (or u think u r..) doesnt allow u to behave like an a$$.
