I wonder if the aircraft stayed on the UK register but was owned by a company outside of the EU if that would make a difference ?

I actually dont know how it works in UK, but for what I know if u have a plane in italy, the insurance company (often one that has a specialized field) will refer to the country’s regulations.
So theorically they should erase her from the UK register, then register her in another country (I’d say france, even because the aviation authorities have experience with Pink Lady), and then start a suitable insurance contract.. If the Sally B staff would release a public message to let all the fans know what’s gonna happen this would help us understanding a lil bit more..

If they make a movie about Yeager it wouldn’t be complete without portraying him as the arrogant a*s he turned into. But somehow I think that part will be left out…

Personally I would love to see ChickenHawk being made into a movie.

did u have some bad experience with the upsaid pilot? 😉

I guess we need something like “Band of Brothers”, but under an aeronautical point of view.. The real story of a fighter squadron or something like that, of course at least 10 episodes long! 😀

I was planning to end my holiday to California with a SNJ-6 flight at Carlsbad just north of San Diego.

Now I’m not sure, and if the wife gets wind of this then I’ve no chance!

go for it, dont even think about giving up!

Our government should do the same as the French, grow a backbone and tell the EU to F off, we could all get on with our life then and not worry if the government will wipe our a*** or not. All that is required is a goodly amount of common sense.

When talking to one of Sally B’s ground crew at Duxford on VE day he mentioned that Pink Lady was not effected as the French did not inforce this ruling in the same way the UK Government.
I think we should be less blaming the EU and more thinking what our Government should be doing.

thanks mate, now this is a constructive post! At least we know some more info about it.

Didnt mean to offend u or something Avro’s, it’s that sometimes I’m too pragmatic..

EN830 (or Brad 😉 ), that might well be a solution, but the bureaucracy to register a plane in a foreign country is not always easy. Many people did so in these years, and I guess it’s the only way to save planes like Sally B. Let’s wait and see what the Sally B staff will decide.

    my try:
    1)a hanger?
    2)a morko-morane with a DB-605 (or Bf-109G6 nose)attached for test purposes?
    3)a B-24 cockpit
    4)a pilot chap
    5)some parasol crap..
    6)french plane?
7)a late zero version tested in US
8)the result of a sleepless night due to a bad digestion of an engineer..
    9)a sunderland?
10)i knew this one, an XP-something, based on the P-47..

    what do I win? 🙂

I completely agree with u! The way he talks about his career makes u feel part of it.. the vivid details about flight ops, the feelings… superb book, highly reccomended!
They already made a movie out of “Piece of cake”, how about a movie inspired to Chuck Yeager? His life and career were amazing too!

once again I’m sorry, but I didnt mean to do it and sincerely I dont see where I did speculate over it.. I just expressed my opinion about it, and believe me, I’m the last one who would be interested in speculate over it, let’s wait for the FAA full report then..

I’m sorry if I ignited some “wild speculation”, wasnt really my intention…
U sound a lil bit too anxious TBM, these accident are (unfortunately) not so infrequent, and sadly in most of the cases it’s human factor, expecially with a machine that doesnt allow many “tricks”..

I know Blue Max, but the T-6 is not a paper plane, believe me.. A structural failure is pretty disconcerning..
