It’s reasonably cheap to get to Madrid nowadays. CV is on the opposite side of the city but within easy bus/metro reach. I’d splash out and go…..!

    Yelahanka

Another show of possible interest? Yelahanka in India 2005. These were taken in my pre-DSLR days and while travelling for work with just a compact film camera.. 🙁

Yes Pagen01, a MIG-25R. All Foxbats are long retired in Libya and many are stored/dumped at Mitiga. Check out Google Earth and you’ll see how it is (or was!?). There are lot of stored machines around there, including L-39s and the Foxbats. The dump even has a Tu-22 Blinder! It is/was a very interesting place and was unusual in that you could walk the flight lines and even the taxyways without challenge, take photos and generally nose around. I guess it is sadly something of the past now! RR

Yes, an AN-32P. This was one of four at the show at Mitiga. I dread to think whch, if any, of these aircraft have suffered at the hands of the coalition forces recently. Despite what you see on the TV the Libyans are/were extremely friendly. From an enthusiasts point of view this was the first show I’ve been at in which you could get the local servicemen to run you around the ramp in a pick-up Toyota to see the various types. Nice! Of coursde, I was “working”! RR

    Hi mate,

Thanks for your comments. I have many more on my site (see the link above). They were all copied a few years ago on a Nikon Coolscan VED and edited with PS2. The original film was either K25 or K64, taken on Olympus OM1n.

    RR

Hi RR….Those are some well copied scans from some well exposed slides.I hope you can send some more in when you get some time to do them,by the way what gizmo did you use to get such good results?.I find copying time consuming and frustrating but the rewards are well worth the effort when a copy comes out o.k.ish.

Glad you liked the pic’s again Mike and it was a sight to see the skyraider wizzing about low level at barton and viewing the machine at eye level from the control tower.:)I too would loved to have seen a javelin fly and feel in this climate the future in aviation for the enthusiast will be in looking to the past as if we don’t air shows will be all that much poorer for not doing so.:rolleyes::)

    ColFord,

The sun will be reasonably behind you also.

You’ll need some patience with the sun etc, or appectance of shots partially against it. Duxford is not the best in this regard.
