According to G-INFO, there are at least three Spitfires marked as ‘pending restoration to the UK register’ :
G-AWGB (TE308) ex N308WK,
G-BKMI (MV154 / ‘MT928’) ex D-FEUR
G-IXCC (PL344) ex N644TB
Duxford Diary will continue, but when and where remains to be seen.
It seems only fair to wait until things settle down, hopefully a more user-friendly, searchable and pictorial forum will result.
Speaking entirely for myself, since the thread has always been picture led, it needs to be somewhere that can display images to their best advantage.
How about a vote on leaving Key ? If a majority votes in favour, we’ll leave on October 31st, with or without a deal ! I’ll ask Boris for advice.
What could possibly go wrong ?
Many thanks to everyone who has been in contact with support and suggestions.
Anyone know where Duxford Diary is ?
Duxford Friday 30th August:
There was a very welcome visitor at Duxford today, Fairchild 24W-46 G-SEDC.
Flown last week after a 41/2 year rebuild at Earl’s Colne, she is now the fifth on the UK register and the only one with the Warner Scarab radial engine (and the only one in civilian markings).
Built in 1947 and looking better than new !
Many thanks to RG and GS for access and information.
Duxford Tuesday 20th August:
‘Nellie B’ returned yesterday afternoon, she should be flying at Clacton on Thursday and Friday, then Little Gransden on Sunday.
Today also saw the return of the DH.9 from an extended stay at Old Warden:
The Blenheim was active this afternoon:
Last month, Classic Wings lost their Ground Ops Manager Pete Ward. His funeral today was marked by a flypast by many of the aircraft in his care. Among them Tiger Moth G-ARAZ is now marked in remembrance.
