Here’s some more from today’s appearance of PS853:
Spitfire PR.XIX PS853 was delivered to Central PRU at Benson 13-1-45 and served with 16 Sqn on operations through Belgium and Holland. Ending service in Germany in March 1946, she was stored until 1950 when she joined the THUM Flight, flying the unit’s last sortie on 10-6-57. Becoming a founder member of the BBMF, she appeared at countless airshows. Here at Coltishall in the sixties (Pic from Tony Clarke Collection):
Retiring in 1995, she became G-MXIX on 23-2-95 with Euan English, until passing to Rolls Royce in 1996 (G-RRGN from 23-12-96) and resumed airshow duties. Here at Legends 2006:
The present rebuild started with delivery to Duxford around August 2010, here seen outside Hangar 2 on 27-8-10:
Moved to the ARCo workshops 3-9-10:
Dismantled and ready for paint stripping 15-11-10:

PHWOAR !
”Phwoar: An expression of enthusiastic lubricious approval”
