MM has responded with:
“Nice to see that Dragon Rapide has fond memories. The attached slide (17-8-86), taken after landing back from Castle Mill and Woburn – both now lost to aviation – was taken the day before Chris/DR flew with me. He then had a Monday job cleaning the Russavia a/c after each weekend.”
Interesting to note Tiger Moth G-MOTH / K2567 alongside. Thirty years later and they are together again.

That’s a Catalina nose turret which has been with Plane Sailing for a while. I understand there are no plans to install it, but it may get some conservation work when there is time. The Catalina should be back outside soon, and will be attending the Berlin Airshow later this month.
Today saw a very sad event, with the departure of Auster G-AGTO after 40 years in residence. The second most senior Duxford flier (after Sally B), ‘TO has had her hangar privileges revoked and has been forced to find a new home.
The Classic Wings season is now well under way, with rides and training flights keeping the circuit busy:
Excellent article, Elliott, and sensational pictures.

Hangar 3 is a treat for Spitfire fans at the moment, with 8 airframes on show:
