Duxford Wednesday 14th February:
Hurricane replica BAPC.267, now ‘V7467’ was back in position at Duxford’s public entrance this morning. With more strong winds on the way, it may be a few days before the undercarriage is completed:
Also on the move was the IWM Typhoon (DA4) ZH590, on the way from Hangar 4 to Airspace:
Duxford Wednesday 7th February:
Hurricane I P2902 / G-ROBT returned from a filming assignment yesterday. She still wears the colours of P3700 ‘RF-E’ which represents 303 (Polish) Sqn based at Northolt during the Battle of Britain. The same codes remain on HAC’s P3700 / G-HURI parked few feet away:
For comparison:
Elsewhere, 66 year old Chipmunk G-AMUF (one of very few with no military service) returned to her Redhill base after a few weeks with ARC:
Finally, an opportunity to see the Battle of Britain interpreted through the medium of modern dance !!
If anyone is at a loose end on Valentines Day, dust off your leotard and join the boys !

I would advise any ‘seniors’, whose FoD membership expires soon, to consider buying their Legends advance tickets promptly, since the new ‘Members’ scheme has no discount for the over 60’s.
Duxford Tuesday 23rd January:
Spitfire EP122 is a little camera shy at the moment, so let’s play ‘Spot the Spit’:
There was a recent request concerning the Hangar 5 Ohka conservation project. Here is the wing (inverted of course) awaiting some major surgery:
The tail section is almost complete. These are the final colours, based on paint samples and surviving records:
Duxford Monday 22nd January:
There was plenty of activity at Duxford today, with Boultbee’s Spitfire IX Trainer busy in the circuit. However, Spitfire N3200 was at Airspace, parked with a Rapide, a Red Arrow and one of the Blades. The arrival of a Vulcan also turned a few heads:

2016 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S ‘Spitfire 80’

2017 Aston Martin Vanquish S ‘Red Arrows’

2015 Aston Martin V8 Vantage S ‘Blades Edition’

2015 Aston Martin Vulcan V12 (Track only). 820hp 200+mph £3million.
Another 20+ Aston Martins, old and new, are for a corporate launch tomorrow evening. It will also feature the Blades’ Extra EA300 G-ZEXL which arrived today.
Back to the real thing, and Spitfire Vb EP122 was ferried up from Biggin Hill this afternoon. After an excellent display, she was hangared with TFC, and is due for delivery to the USA shortly.
A couple more from today’s shuffles:
Frankie airborne 0844.
Duxford Tuesday 16th January:
Frankie had a quick pre-departure airtest late this afternoon, three Spitfires were flying, and Sea Fury WG655 was rattling windows for miles around.
Valhalla formation (four Lynx) turned up a few minutes early, I hope somebody got pictures.
TFC’s other two R2800 powered naval fighters:
P-51D ‘Ferocious Frankie’ has been sold in Turkey, and ( if my translation is correct ) should be departing to Sivrihisar shortly. The new owner is MSO. Air & Space Museum, Sivrihisar, Eskisehir, Turkey.

Duxford Sunday 14th January:
Classic Wings’ new Harvard was out for an engine run this afternoon. The dull light doesn’t do justice to such a colourful machine, hopefully we’ll get plenty of sunny shots later this year when she’ll be busy with rides. For details and some proper pictures, see:

Many thanks to DF and Classic Wings for their help.
I seem to have overlooked the Victor for a while, so here are a few pictures of progress on Duxford’s most ambitious restoration (so far).
The number of parts removed and awaiting conservation still hugely outnumber completed pieces, but there is an encouraging corner where finished parts are wrapped and ready for re-attachment.
Ailerons, leading edge and flap sections:
The Ohka conservation is also moving along, the rear fuselage is re-attached and the wooden tail section is nearly finished:
