Duxford Saturday 12th September:
A quiet day, with many of the Duxford fleet away. It was good to meet forumite Liz / ImperfectSense over from Seattle, following her favourite Spitfire!
B-17G ‘Sally B’ was today’s main event, sadly not catching up with the Vulcan but always a great sight to see.
Edit: I see airshow tickets on e-bay are up to £205.00 for a pair…….
Duxford Friday 11th September:
Both F-4 and F-111 were posed nicely in the sunshine this morning, before entering the AAM building:
The B-25 suspension was nearly complete today:
Three more warbirds on the way to Goodwood. That makes 17 aircraft departed, and except for the Biggin Hill MJ627 giving rides, Duxford was without any airworthy Spitfires:

Duxford Wednesday 9th September:
There was a short delay to the U-2 photocall this morning, while the wing re-attachment was completed. The parking space was therefore a bit limited, so many thanks to CK and crew for a privileged shot:

The black finish is actually in pretty good shape, though an odd angle can find some interesting detail:
It is fascinating to note that this 1956 aircraft overflew both USSR and China regularly, and its use as a trainer saw it complete 7,900 hours in 11,330 sorties.

One of my favourite Duxford residents is Spitfire I N3200, which usually resides in Hangar 4 between airshow sorties:
I was delighted to see the aeroplane has another admirer. This was parked in the visitor car park this morning. I’m sure the roundel police will have a few comments, but I think such devotion deserves our admiration:
At the American Air Museum, the C-47A was being raised today:
The U-2 was moved under cover for assembly. It may be in position for photos tomorrow:
