Duxford Sunday 1st March:
The rebuilt P&W R-1830 for Plane Sailing’s Catalina has arrived. Only two months until her 2015 debut at the Abingdon Airshow on May 3rd!
A quick look at the website ( http://www.catalina.org.uk/ ) shows an intriguing event in July, when Worksop College will be leasing ‘Miss Pick Up’ for a trip to Greenland.
Alongside the Catalina, B-17G ‘Sally B’ was performing some gear retraction tests before an interested audience:
The American Air Museum is now closed for a year. The final SR-71 event attracted a big attendance:
Duxford Saturday 28th February:
A quick reminder that tomorrow will be the last day of opening for the American Air Museum until Spring 2016.
There will be another SR-71 talk and walk from Colonel Richard Graham tomorrow at 1100, and a Concorde nose droop demo at 1400.
Nothing much to report today. With the Quilt Show coming up, only the Typhoon is resident in the front of Airspace:
Old Warden Saturday 28th February:
The Sopwith Camel G-BZSC, ( built by Northern Aeroplane Workshops ) is now fully rigged and missing very few details (still a while before first flight, however).
The Triplane rebuild is also progressing, the wing section in the foreground is the re-sparred upper starboard section:
The Lysander is receiving attention:
The based 1936 Aeronca C3 G-ADRR was out for some engine runs this morning:
The SVAS Scale Model Exhibition is coming up on Sunday March 8th.

Duxford Friday 27th February:
The BBMF Spitfire Vb AB910 departed on delivery back to Coningsby this afternoon, after a two year rebuild by HFL/ARCo :
Crew ferry was BBMF Chipmunk WK518, and a photo-ship Aztec was also on hand:

Duxford Tuesday 24th February:
The Nimrod I and Spitfire IA left Hangar 2 for engine runs today:

Terence came up trumps again, bringing the BBMF Spitfire V AB910 outside:

In Airspace, the DAS Concorde was demonstrating her droop nose. Future demos are now published on the DAS website, next dates are Sundays March 1st, March 29th and April 26th, all at 2-2.30.
