In this case, I think the pilot deserves all the credit!

Duxford Wednesday 21st May:
With so much Spitfire activity recently, it was good to see the HAC Hurricane busy today. After an early test flight, two further sorties provided three practice displays:
Spitfires were still a feature today, with N3200 and P9374 parked on the grass:
PV202 was away for the day (now with Bremont badge):
In Hangar 2, ML407 was being striped:
Duxford Monday 19th May (Part 1 of 3): The Great Hangar 4 Shuffle.
Early this morning, the IWM BE2c was installed in Hangar 4 next to the Bristol F2b. During the move, both machines posed in the morning sunshine (Many thanks to AR for the first 3 pics):
2699 is now on show and playing her part in telling the story of UK Air Defence:
The Meteor F.8 was re-positioned, and the Lynx, Proctor and Hunter also spent some time in the sun during the move:
Duxford Saturday 17th May:
Another busy day at sunny Duxford, with much of the activity care of Classic Wings.
From £99 for a flight in one of these:
From £119 for a flight in one of these:
From £429 for a ride in this:
Or, from £399 for a close look at MH434’s new stripes:
Those of us staying on the ground enjoyed two displays from MH434. Both stunning. Whooping was heard (you know who you are…)
Also active were the based Stearman and Stampe:
A shuffle in Hangar 2 has brought the Nieuport replica back into view:
Among the visitors:
Finally, a tantalising view of the Mew Gull replica G-HEKL as it flew past on the way home:
Duxford Friday 16th May (Part 2):
Beech C-45H G-BSZC arrived last night, and is parked near ARCo. Inactive at Weston (Dublin) since 2006, changed in April to a Czech owner.
I missed the F-86 flight this morning. A check on Courtesy Aircraft Sales website shows sale ‘pending’, though there are plenty of airshow bookings on the Golden Apple site:
Work In Progress:
Visitors today included this Chipmunk G-ARMC:
A contingent of German light aircraft arrived just in time for the Spitfire display:
Duxford Friday 16th May (Part 1):
The ARCo Spitfire Tr.9 G-CCCA flew twice today, revealing its fifth set of markings since being based at Duxford. Now back as PV202, she wears the 33Sqn codes 5R-H. The BOOK quotes codes as 5R-Q, so I suspect there’s a story to be told. Anyway, a great new look, and a typically vigorous work-out on return. Here are a few photos:
Duxford Thursday 15th May:
Sally B started her 2014 season with two hours of training today:
Something still not right:
The Sabre was airborne again, with a typically smooth and dynamic display in the sunshine:
We were also treated to two sorties from the TFC Spitfire V:
The TFC Hellcat was engaged in high power engine runs this morning. Seen fully cowled on return:
TFC P-40F:
Duxford Monday 12th May:
The move of Spitfire MH434 back to Hangar 3 allowed some close-ups of her new D-Day markings. Not the first time this aircraft has worn stripes.
I think it’s safe to assume it took hours of meticulous research and days of painstaking labour to re-create an original hastily applied scheme.
Added to the UK register on 29th April was the French Memorial Flight replica (full scale) SE5A F-AZBF. Hispano Suiza powered and now G-ERFC.
