I have yet to read a coherent and scientifically led case against it. Lots of feelings, if’s, but’s and maybes, but that is it.
however a lot of the scientific cases for it i’ve seen also seem to also full of ifs’ and ‘buts’ and ‘spin’…. despite the mass of information out there, it does seem difficult for Joe Public to get an un biased opinion.
have to admit not taken much interest till now, however its suddenly a bit closer to home..
aside from the argument by the Greens that any increase in fossil fuel usage is a bad thing, from a local perspective the concerns seem to be leakage of the slurry into the aquifier/water supply, storage of the slurry and earthquakes 🙂 again each ‘side’ seem to minimise or maximise these depending on their point of veiw. it does seem to be a relatively inefficient method of extracting the gas, and apparently needs a series of bore holes, rather than the single one shown in all the illustrations.. The process also needs huge amounts of water, this has to come from somewhere and i presume up here transported from elsewhere as we seem to always teeter on the edge of drought up here..
happy to be pointed in the direction of some spin free information, as a ‘local’ rather than a rent-a-mob member 🙂
an area north of here is on ‘the map’
irrespective of the country of origin of the suppliers/extractor, not sure how Cameron can promise cheaper energy as the companies will sell into the most beneficial market for them? I seem to remember when north sea gas/oil was first extracted there was talk by the govts of the day of cheaper and even ‘free’ energy!
Partly filmed at East Kirkby so expect Just Jane to make an appearance 🙂
I thought that too, especially when he started ranting on about how it wasnt their (the UK) decision who could or couldnt use their currency ?? actually I’d have thought it was?!! anyway, whatever happens it’ll be ‘those English b’stards’ fault…
The sign seems to be hanging on – must be a good place to stand (like sitting next to the black box on an aircraft 🙂 ) although there were some cracks in the surface quite close by…
the falls seem quite localised as the face is made up of different materiels, that nearest the cottages/cafe seems to have a lot of soil mixed in with the chalk which i assume is what makes it more prone to collapsing..
we were there last weekend and they’d just finished the demolition of the end cottage…

A thing that made me at least sad, and a bit angry today was revisiting some recent pictures of the Gladiator “Faith” rotting away in a dank basement. It got me all annoyed over museum politics more generally.
didnt look or feel particularly dank in there a couple of months ago, i understand the war museum has had a refurb and i was quite impressed with the place.. … obviously be nicer as a complete aeroplane but sits well where it is and possibly seen by more people in the museum in Valletta ?

Catalina over North Coates 12.30 today, last seen heading up the Humber. En route to Poland maybe ?
I’m glad someone else saw it as when I checked on the Catalina Facebook page to see where it was going,
they said it has been in Poland since Thursday !!! but it was definitely heading out rather than back home…
ah ok, didnt realise anyone could view facebook pages unless you were a ‘user’.. so in that case my comments arent relevant…
i’m not a ‘member’ of anything and can access the BBMF page without a problem ?
are you trying to access the correct page…. there is an unofficial ‘fan’ page which is a closed group
https://www.facebook.com/BBMF.Official/ real one
https://www.facebook.com/groups/59248314934/ the other one
thanks for that, I was there as an ATC cadet and the only thing I remembered was that VC10 🙂

nope, i stopped in at Coningsby on the way home and neither of the hurricanes had gained black crosses on the underside of the wings 😉 caught the pair of them flying straight overhead just as i was walking into a cafe, could see that the spitfire was cammo. scheme but only saw the underneath of the other.. definately squared off wingtips gray paint and crosses.. ? assumed it was something to do with Richard Lake as i wasnt far from Humberside
SPTFIRE up, east of Brigg 13.25
