without Maggie T we probably wouldnt have seen the rise of Ben Elton.. not decided if thats a good or bad thing 🙂 on one hand we wouldnt have had Black Adder, but on the other I wouldnt have had to endure sitting through the ‘musical’ We Will Rock You! 😮
ref post #83, as I was 18 in 1979 I suppose I should really be donning my DMs and ‘celebrating,’ but TBH these days I’m more interested in putting my Ducati back together.! 🙂

yep I was aware that that was its current use, I think they must’ve added or changed one of the training scenarios since I last looked, as you can now see more ‘tangled metal’ from the A15… quick look of their website I’m guessing its the ‘collapsed crane’ simulation…

going off at a slight tangent, I had a visit to USS Hornet whilst in San Francisco last year… the ship was used to recover the Apollo 11 capsule on return, and exhibits on board include the recovery helicopter from that mission, along with the quarantine unit
edit! the helo wasnt the one used for that mission (but was in the film Apollo 13!) and the quarantine unit was from Apollo 14.. oh well at least i got the bit about the ‘boat’ correct.. 🙂

The following Units are based at RAF Scampton:
The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team (RAFAT), also known as the Red Arrows.
No 1 Air Control Centre (1ACC)
The Mobile Meteorological Unit (MMU)
i’m guessing its not the MMU that sadsack is alluding to – the clue is in the name 😉 😀
Restore to usable or restore to as new ?
wipe over with an oily rag and a look over the mechanical bits will do…. they’re only original once..
that 4 cyclinder Henderson would find a space in my shed…
