Not sure if the true story behind the CWH Lancaster is being told, having met Pat Brophy and knowing his remarkable story I hope more learn of it.The Lancaster is dedicated to the memory of P/O Andrew Mynarski ……..”
There is a very nice memorial to P/O Mynarski at Durham Tees / Middleton St George, hopefully someone willl capture a shot of it with the Lancaster in the background

Nice to see this morning that the Coningsby locals are getting into the spirit with Canadian flags and bunting hanging up in anticipation of tomorrows arrival… 🙂
The RAF Coningsby authorities are suggesting there will be very little parking space available after the early hours of the morning. My suggestion would be Lincoln to watch them fly over the cathedral. That’s an image to treasure.
Moggy
^^^ yep, with the Red Arrows providing top cover it should look spectacular, although the weather currently doesnt look promising… I’ll probably loiter around waddington and avoid the coningsby after leaving there following Nightshift 🙂
A thing that made me at least sad, and a bit angry today was revisiting some recent pictures of the Gladiator “Faith” rotting away in a dank basement. It got me all annoyed over museum politics more generally.
didnt look or feel particularly dank in there a couple of months ago, i understand the war museum has had a refurb and i was quite impressed with the place.. … obviously be nicer as a complete aeroplane but sits well where it is and possibly seen by more people in the museum in Valletta ?

The sign seems to be hanging on – must be a good place to stand (like sitting next to the black box on an aircraft 🙂 ) although there were some cracks in the surface quite close by…
the falls seem quite localised as the face is made up of different materiels, that nearest the cottages/cafe seems to have a lot of soil mixed in with the chalk which i assume is what makes it more prone to collapsing..
we were there last weekend and they’d just finished the demolition of the end cottage…

I thought that too, especially when he started ranting on about how it wasnt their (the UK) decision who could or couldnt use their currency ?? actually I’d have thought it was?!! anyway, whatever happens it’ll be ‘those English b’stards’ fault…
