I agree with Kev’s comments above.. I’ve got a Z1 which is the poor relation with only 10x zoom and no anti-shake, but i think its great for static/taxying shots.. personally I dont bother too much with the flying shots as I prefer watching the flying rather photographing it… the autofocus can be a bit hit n miss on flying shots especially gray a/c in gray skies but thats common to most AF systems..
but having said that, if I had the dosh and the commitment to learn how to use one properly I’d go for a DSLR.. problem is by the time you’ve bought somethign like a Cannon 350D, plus a telephoto lens, batteries, memory cards etc etc you’re not going to have much change from £1000??
neil.
Lovely! wish I’d made more of an effort to get down there now..

Take it easy.
There’s an interesting thread struggling for life under a rain of small bears.
Temora are coy about Winston’s construction date – anoyone? What’s the a/c you’ve got Alastair?
Cheers!
the CAA G-INFO page shows G-METE as was, with a build date of 1949..

Steve Fosset would be an interesting bloke to spend an evening in the pub with, a few tales to tell…
the Vimy site mentions England on the flight schedule, although its a ‘TBD’ – would be nice if it did make it over here..
Neil.

Nice to see it out n about… ref the DA, how does that work for foreign pilots normally – thinking about one-off appearences at Leg-ends etc, the a/c may only be there the day before so can it be done at that short notice, or is it normally a paperwork exercise if they’ve been validated by their own authorities?? Neil.
nice.. has it (they?) always been black?? Neil
