Neil
Great news…! be nice to see it in formation with that bright yellow staggerwing – sunglasses time!
neil
they told me up to 3 months but actually took about a month..
Neil.
1)not a watch tower, but a WW2 structure – Chain Home tower at Stenigot
2) also at Stenigot, but post war remains of NATO ACE-HIGH comms system..
3)Watch tower at Strubby.
edit- ooops just realised Vicky-Ten has already posted a Strubby pic..! 😮
theres a bloke over on ‘commercial’ who is involved with it so may be worth asking the question over there..?? he did post an update not that long ago..

East Kirkby
always thourght the crew bus would look good outside with the Lanc and a few reenactors??
Did you take that pic on Friday, Neil? If so, either they moved it before I saw it or they’ve got two.
Despite having absolutely no use for one whatsoever, I’ve always wanted a Fergy TE20. I wish I knew why…
yep I took that on Friday…. whilst being acused by another forumite of taking boring photos!!! 😀
so what era is it?
Neil
Any idea what this ‘vehicle’ is thats parked next to the 1-11?? I presume its aviation related but as its at Brooklands, maybe not??
Neil
We never got to the bottom of the thinking behind this on a previous thread, whether it was security concerns, ownership of copyrite of images of items lent to the museum or sale of postcards??

well I managed the first 90 pages this morning whilst sitting at Lincoln Crown Court (Juror you understand, not defendant!) and must say I’ve enjoyed it very much.. the Bomber Ops of the early war years are often overshadowed by the ‘Lancaster Years’, but its covered nicely here.. what I especially like though is the way the squadrons ops are shown in context with what else was going on at that time… heres hoping I get another couple of quiet days to finish it off!! 😀 nice one Kev !!
Neil.
think the Jags have got a couple more years, with the last Sqn possibly operating out of a ‘secret Lincolnshire airbase’ 😀 (!) if Coltishall closes as planned next year..
Neil.
ah, I only took a picture from the rear of the Cygnet! 😮
seriously though, I was really impressed with the a/c today, a credit to everyone involved at Old Warden/SVAS with their upkeep..
it also made my day to see the Comet racer sat on her wheels in one piece – are we likely to see her fly this season??
Neil.
just thourght I’d add my congratulations to all involved with Kev in the book and organisation of the event yesterday.. and good to see ‘you lot’! 😀
Neil
Yes, CBY as answered on thread where the question was originally posed?
Neil
What time is everyone thinking of getting there? Does about 11am sound feasible? Gives us all a bit of time to look around the Museum before concentrating on the main event and giving Kev our undivided support and attention from 2pm onwards.
yep I’m looking to get there early-ish as I’ve not been to Brooklands for about 10 years 😮 so want to have a good wander around..
