Thanks Neil. Your answer was a little kurt, but I’ll forgive you! 🙂

Neil.
The Janie household promptly went into deep discussion about the various bouncing bombs and their properties. Anyone know what the German version was called?
was called KURT apparently.. designed as anti-shipping device like Highball, and had some kind of rocket propulsion to overcome the problem of it impacting with the ship and exploding just as the deliving a/c flew overhead.. don’t think it was used in anger..
Neil.
Yes Roger, it’s a shame it’s actually an airline variant with all those windows and would look much nicer restored back to its original SABENA livery. It was actually Belgian AF B15/OT-ZKP and here it is in its previous scheme and in its original SABENA livery as OO-SHP
The original scheme would look nice in 1/72 scale too, eh Albert?? 😀 😀
Neil.
the plaque may just’ve ended-up where it is as its more accesible by the side of a road rather than round the back of the garden centre.. i’d guess it marks the general area of the airfield as I presume it was a grass strip so dont think they had designated ‘runways’… but as you can see by use of the words guess and may I dont know either !!
As for WW2 decoy airfield… I suppose Digby is nearest..
by the way mr RAF-Lincolnshire…. great website!!! 😀
put me down for one of the German fighter pilots.. always thourght their uniforms loked better..! 😀
Neil.
Oh, about half of the daft f***ers that frequent this place I would think!!!!
only half?? they’d still complain that it was the wrong kind of hessian… 😉
I think we ought to run to a hotter production Capri than that. 🙂
Mark
