    Ref “I was at Coningsby the other week and the RAF had knocked off and gone home before 4.” I’m sure that the chaps and ladies tasked with the defence of UK airspace would like you to know that they’re there 24hrs a day 365 days a year… as are the team supporting them..

    the programme that I’ve got shows the Lancaster plus 1 Spit and 1 Hurri departing at 14.35 on the 29/7 and nightstopping away (Norwich)… I’ll check tomorrow if thats still the case unless anyone else here has a more up to date programme handy…. if you made it the 28th July then all the a/c should be ‘in’ and you could also treat yourself and go to the Just Jane taxi-run that day!!!

    have a look here and search on review for yr camera..it says that you should be able to adjust the shutter speed using the front or rear control dials??

    just down to your shutter speed…. from memory this is again about 100th or 125th… I’ve not delved in to the black art of tweeking/photoshopping yet.. all my pictures so far are straight out of camera apart from resize to fit on here.. I’m pretty pleased with the camera so far…

    see the post above yours! we must’ve been pressing the ‘enter’ key at the same time!!! to change the shutter speed its the upper and lower buttons on the circular control panel on the right hand rear of the camera..

    ground shots are OK with mine, as per attached… Papa Lima, on this one I turned it to S mode (shutter priority) then used the downward arrow key to set the speed to about 100th I think…

    Hi Ross, I’ve just bought my first digital camera too (minolta Z1) – th egreat thing is that it doesn’t cost you anything to practice with it and you can see the results instantly! main limitation with mine is flying shots of prop a/c.. the sport mode focuses OK but insists on a high shutter speed so you get frozen props – jets are ok !! examples below.. best of luck with yours..

    heres my sad atempt to capture the moment.. unfortunately the pilot lit the afterburners just as he got level with where I stood so I had a bit of a wobble-on!!!! not a patch on the above images but makes me grin when I look at it!!!

    yep another great day… i really did like the gentle 7 Spitfire tail chase.. and just about all of it really… I even came to terms with having to park on the Northside 😀

    saw Janie taking money off of people, Learning Slowly was telling people off for putting their chairs in front of the ‘crash gate’, Robbo was all tooled-up, Andrew O bought even more ‘tat’ than usual and more than me, and Snapper was doing something very worthwhile… did anyone actually meet under the Vulcan at 11.00… I loitered within visual range in case it was an ambush but didnt see any familiar faces..
